Default Finally got the Z on track at Buttonwillow (video)

I posted this in the Autocross/Road Racing section too, so I hope no one minds the repost here since I'm in SoCal and it was at a SoCal track. In any case, I've been anxious to see how well the Z does on track and finally had a chance at Saturday's Buttonwillow Performance Driving Clinic. I really enjoyed the balance, and the only challenge was a long brake pedal at the end of my run. I've got some Motul fluid in the garage ready to go to help fix that problem.

In any case, here's some GoPro footage of my laps (music added since all I got was massive wind noise from the built-in mic):

We were running configuration 25A-CCW

BTW, if you're ever looking for great track time at Buttonwillow, be sure to check out their Performance Driving Clinics. As you can see in the video, not much in the way of traffic, especially by the afternoon sessions, and a great non-comptetitive environment.

Nice!

I wanted to go to this event too but my car didn't show up by the time Dec 15 swung around. I'm definitely going to make the one in February though.

Run the more standard Config 13 a few times but never run that config. Looks like fun.

As a road racer it does take some restraint to follow the passing rules, but they're a great asset of the clinic to make it safe for everyone.

Was the 1st car you passed a MR2? Looked kinda funky.

There wasn't enough turns IMO but I'm sure it was because it's a Clinic. I'm very interested in attending 1 since I just got a new platform to race with.

The first car was a Lotus Elise.

What platform will you be racing and with which racing series?

I'm not sure which series yet but I will be hitting some grip races in FEB-MAR time if my shop give my car the thumbs up first.

If your aspirations include wheel-to-wheel racing, I'd encourage you to attend a NASA SoCal weekend (http://socal.drivenasa.com/). They have a nicely defined path from HPDE to Time Trial to wheel-to-wheel racing.
