Default Looking for a Custom Roll Bar

Hey All,

I am wondering if anyone in the LA area has gotten a custom roll bar fitted into their Z. After reading some posts, it looks like the way to go is custom, so that's what I plan on doing.

I also want to ensure that it is SCCA approved.

Thanks.

Rahul

GearHeinz in Duarte, CA can fabricate you one to SCCA specs.

auto power makes a 4 and 6 point bar specific to our chassis, its scca and nasa approved, i have the 6 point. its was 895 gotta pick it up in san diego to save on shipping though. if you want custom ^gearheinz^ does good work but anything custom is pricey.

Safety equipment is the most important thing not to lowball on, just saying. Even my fixed seat rails were custom fabbed.

Get a 4 point roll bar and then invest in the rest of the monkeys bars later on.

I had John at JSP make mine. Pretty good price and excellent work. Passes tech for NASA TTA and scca tt. It is a full cage that ran me about $2500.

Why not just order a 4 point roll bar from autopower or Kirk racing?

Well i do just want a 4-pnt roll bar, but I heard that Autopower and Kirk both have some clearance between the bar and the ceiling just because you need to fit it in there. I am kinda tall and dont have much clearance from my helmet to the ceiling, so i want to make sure that the bar will be above my helmet or else it is pretty much useless.

i was looking for a 4-pnt for at or under a grand fabbed and installed.

I believe the kirk cage (not sure if the autopower as well) also makes you lose a bit more then necessary space behind the passenger seat. Not a big deal though.

May 6, you can check out my Kirk 4 point at the Fontana Nissan meet. I'm 6'1 and have no problems.

I was just thinking about going to this meet. Thanks for giving me another reason to do so.

As far as the Cusco cages, from what I have seen/heard, the bars are too thin to pass SCCA/NASA specs. They are more street/show from what I have read.

Kirk and AutoPower are the only bolt in options that I am aware of and wouldn't mind going this route if I know i fit, and the passenger seat issue isn't too bad.

I'd only recommend a cusco blue bolt in cage to someone I disliked.
