May 2, 04 Mark your calenders!!!

Well, we have the options of two dates May 2nd and May 30 th . May 30th is the start of Memorial day weekend. I'd like the extra time to plan but the 2nd might be better. So tenatively we'll go for the May 2 nd. What do you all think?

We've been thinking some of you'd might prefer auto-cross to drag racing. I thing both has possibilities. Maybe the track might let us do both if we keep the numbers reasonable by limiting the numbers of participants to each.

Since were going all out, maybe we can get out a portable Dyno to the event as well and of course a DJ or 2 for atmosphere. It depends how spread out we get, between all the events.

Now is the time to jump on the bandwagon. I've got some volunteers, but a event of this scale requires the team work of many talents, in all areas. I'll be starting organzational meetings with planning commitees and calling on some people to develop a core group for such events as soon as we book the date in concrete.

I think i shoudl be able to make it, I won't really know untill it gets closer and i know how much $$ will need to be shelled out to participate since as of right now funds are running small and i dunno how well its gonna go untill then.... or if ill even get a job... so we shall see

I'd suggest a change in the name of the event (a bit too fast and the furiousy), but what exactly is goin down? Is the club going to rent out a track for a day? Is it exclusive to 350z's? I own a dj business so i could possibly set something up depending on whether it's only 350z's or not. And, i'd prefer drag racing, but either way I think it'd be a fun event. The reason i say dracing is that i only got 2 runs last time i drove 5 hrs to go !

 

may 30th and I can probably make it. going to the zdayz at tail of the dragon in NC the week before.

The first meeting of the new (still unnamed) 350Z club meeting at Performance Nissan was, to put it mildly... AwEsOmE!!!!

I can't wait for the next meeting/event!

Where will the Race Warz be held? What is the venue?

 

If I remember correctly, it will be held at Irwindale Speedway. Is that right, Mr. Twisted?

Thats right, were still negotiating with the track for the date. As soon as I know you'll all know I promise.... Keep talking about it; we need to garner support for the event so the big money guys came thur with there support.

 

Just some ideas to throw in:

1. Get a radio station to promote... They'll usually bring out a van or something, give away some stickers, and promote "where they're gonna be" for that day so people will come out.

2. I have a roommate who can DJ for the day (depending upon the day of course), playing mostly techno, etc, but he's got everything except he would need to rent an amp for the day...

3. VIP tent for Sponsors, etc. Cater a bbq and drinks, etc. Make the VIP part very attractive to sponsors so they understand their time is worth it just to have a good time for a day...

4. Add in a sound competition as well as general car show... Those SPL guys often don't have anywhere around LA to regularly show their rides, I'm sure they'd love a spot @ irwindale...

5. Guerilla market EVERYWHERE. . . Everyone in LA area should be coming to this thing...

6. Offer early-arrival special price to get the show going quicker...

How much is the track to rent for the day?

 

Depending of what you want to do between $2-25K. The bigger the program the more it cost.
