Replacing brakes in LA area?
Recently, my brakes have been squeaking once in a while. It's been more frequent now and it's starting to get annoying. So I took the car to American tire depot in Rosemead for a free brake inspection. The technician said my rear brake pads need replacing along with the rotor. He also recommended a brake flush. The quote was $314+tax for OE-grade rear pads and rotors. I said I'll look around first and left. I know my rear pads are almost done because i compared it to the front ones. But aren't the rotors able to be used for a lot longer? I did a search and read that i can resurface up to 2 times? I wasnt able to find out what brake pads are good though. I have 38k right now, never tracked or raced. Does anybody know of a reputable shop (especially if you have gotten your brakes worked on) that can give me a second opinion and a better deal? Not sure what brake pads are good. Preferably quiet but good initial bite. Thanks!
