Default What are you thinking Torrance Nissan???

This is just a food for thought post...

I called Torrance Nissan yesterday because my car is drifting to the right. I printed out the TSB from this forum and wanted talk to the Svc. department about it.

First of all, I don't know who it was that I spoke to (forgot to get a name...my bad).

Second of all, this person may just have been having a bad day...

BUT...

This person stated that he despises this forum. He went on to infer that the TSB's from this forum are bullsh*t. He claimed that they have no TSB's for the 350z.

I explained to him what the TSB said regarding the drift...

His reply...

Well, we're not allowed to break the speed limit nor are we able to take a customer's car on the fwy so unless the problem can be duplicated at 40mph we won't be able to do anything...

My response...

OK, thanks...mayble I'll bring it in...

My thoughts...

OK, thanks...guess I'll be having all my work done in Duarte from now on.

I had an oil change there recently and the fellow that I talked to was very into the Z's and making sure everything was kosher....but it only takes one bad apple to ruin the bunch.

I'm curious Jeff or Jason if you read this...as to what TSB's you have on file if any????

I bought my Altima and Z from Torrance Nissan. The sales person that I bought both the cars are really cool. I used to take my Z in for service there for the first 2 oil changes and the BOSE amp TSB. And those three visits are all it needed for me to decide to switch to another service dept. I now go to Performance Nissan. The most friendliest and nicest service dept. I have ever set my foot into.

Try Gardena Nissan if you don't want to drive to Performance Nissan.

If you're not having it serviced at Performance, you're asking for it. JMHO.

good thing u didn't meet a mechanic at torrance nissan that also said the internet is full of BS. anyway, refering to the service advisor your were speaking with, i know exactly who you're talking about. he told me that he wishes the internet never existed. he said that just because nissan issues tsb's, it doesn't mean that there's something wrong with your car, even if you have the symptoms! what kind of BS is that! he went on and on but i didn't bother to listen to him. i usually don't like bad mouthing, but since this happened to someone else, i'll share my experience.

Yikes...well, I am new to California, and don't know distance of cities, but if you can get to Gardena Nissan, you should have no problems. I am treated exceptionally there. Service Director, Dave Okamoto expects nothing but the best from his emplyees. I get a survey in the mail every time I am serviced, to keep quality control up to par at Gardena Nissan. The survery states, if I cannot give them a perfect rating, to contact Dave Okamoto himself...I am serviced by Roman, and he's great. Check it out, if it is convenient for you to get there.

Wish you knew who you spoke with. Let me tell you what work I've had done at Torrance:

1. Tranny, replacement per TSB. Loaner car provided.
2. JWT lightweight flywheel, no charge installation when tranny replaced.
3. Engine, replacement under warranty, no TSB. Loaner car provided.
4. Radio, replacement under warranty.
5. Strut brace adjustment, no charge.
6. Mirror replacement due to rattle, under warranty.

I have had 5 star service from these guys. If I were to add up parts and service, I'm certain that they have done over $10k in work under warranty.

As I stated earlier, I recently had my oil changed at Torrance Nissan and the person was very forthcoming and helpful...

I was just struck by this particular person's aversion to My350Z.Com and its uses and more struck that he would voice these opinions to a Z owner and even more struck that he would voice it to a Z owner and forum member. Again, maybe he was just having a bad day...

But when you're in the service industry...I don't think you can afford to have bad days...

In the end, what this does for me is make me wonder if the next time I bring my car in for any type of service...if this person is facilitating the work...

If I had the name of HFM's service rep there and could ask for him/her by name...that would be an option.

Duarte is about a 50min drive for me (no traffic)...but based on what's been said at this forum and my personal experiences thus far with several dealerships...it's a no brainer from this point on...

That's good to know. I'll be asking for Brett when it's time for service.
