Need someone to check out a ZR in San Diego
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for someone who is qualified to check out a ZR in San diego (Poway) for me. Any member feel they know enough & can get a look at it? My 2 month old ZR got totalled 3 days ago & I want another.

Moved to the correct regional subforum
I would really recommend against this, you should look at it yourself and test drive it to make sure everything is ok
When you ask someone else to do it they might miss things and that could end up costing you alot in the long run

I'm really not going to buy based on somebody elses recommendation. Just need someone who is knowledgeable to tell me if it's worth the trip out to drive & check out. Then I can fly out & make the decision. I'm going to be picky, because the one that got wrecked was PERFECT.60K miles one owner.

yeah this thread is a little goofy. Its actually very goofy. Someone hold his hand and tell him to look both ways before crossing the road.... I work at a Nissan/Jeep dealership in WA, I deal with the "lost and scared" cliche of people on a daily basis and heres what I tell people, especially out of state people, you need to consider the cost of going to get the car, returning the car to your location, add in your sales tax, IF that number of the cost and quality of vehicle is worth more than anything in your local area, then obviously do what you need to do to get it. This isn't your first car (I hope) and obviously won't be your last.

Not goofy at all. I have probably owned 35 - 40 cars in my life. Alway buy VERY NICE used cars. Doesn't matter to me what length I have to go to to get the BEST CAR/DEAL.
Shopped 2 months for the last one & it paid off. Just too bad it got hit.
So that being said.. if your not interested in helping stay the heck out of my thread...

WHY is it so hard to believe that someone in AZ wants another fellow forum member who may be in the area to go see the car? Jesus christ you would think helping someone here costs you a leg.
I dont live in SD but I would help you out if it was close.

Make arrangements with a Nissan Dealership in the area to give the car a certified pre-owned examination.
They wont certify it, but for $100 they go over the car and let you know if it would pass the criteria for certification.
I did this when I bought my zr, but I also made the 2.5 hour drive prior to purchase to check out the car and drive it for myself.

Lol at trying to tell people not to post in a public forum
I bought my CPO 2008 Z from Mossy Nissan in Escondido and the staff/service there was great... They are a huge dealership chain in San Diego with a branch in Poway (http://www.mossynissan.com/poway.htm)... If you're looking for a dealer to inspect it I would suggest them.

Now that is a couple of helpful posts. i thought for a while I was going to just have to look for a second Corvette because they are helpful on that forum. Thanks guys for the input. Good idea. I'll see if the owner will take it in for an inspection.
And youre right, the domestic boards like ls1tech have much more helpful people. Probably because people there are much older and conservative. GENERALLY speaking..
