Default Full Southwest All-Nissan Meet

Interested? I thought as much, since you clicked on the link. Most of you don’t remember me, but I’m that same guy who set up the SoCal Meet in Fountain Valley, and this time I’m working on setting up (with some help from Altimas.net guys and a few others) a regional meet in Las Vegas, Nevada the weekend of April 23 – 25, 2004.. The reason behind choosing Las Vegas is that it is a *relatively* central location for almost anyone coming from California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, and wherever else. As we speak, we’re in the process of contacting the proper authorities in Vegas, via other enthusiasts who live there, and should have final plans set up by the middle of March (Hopefully!)

Hotel Info : -

We contacted the Flamingo Hotel (on the strip - I believe), and they have a rate of $160/night for Quad occupancy (Yes, four people to a room), so that averages about $40 per night per person ... not bad if you ask me. If you decide you don't want to share a room with three other people there is Double Occupancy (That's two people to a room) is the same price, except $80 per person per night. Still Not Bad.

Even Better: If you are an AAA member - [room has to be in your name], the rate drops to $148 per night which breaks down to $37 per person per night (Quad Occupancy), or $74 per person per night (Double Occupancy.) If we can get Ten (10) or more rooms, the rate can go even lower, resulting in even more savings.

Event Plans: -
These are tentative right now, details will be announced mid-March! Also, if you have a suggestion for an event, don’t hesitate to contact either Terry or Myself and we can work on that as well!!

-Meet ‘n Greet icebreaker event
-Show ‘n Shine vehicle showoff
-Track event
-?

Other Info: -

We're also looking to get sponsors for this event (performance parts, other goodies) so we can have a raffle, to make it even more fun. If you have connections with any shop, or company that would be willing to help us out with a generous donation of either a discount on products or services, or whatever, it would be greatly appreciated.

What I am requesting from you is an official (non-binding) RSVP, so we can start a head count of who is going to be there. Send an e-mail to me (Sam) at se2001@onebox.com, or Terry at bugnlv@adelphia.net. We will do our level best to keep you up to date and also will provide contact info outside the forums for you.

Thanks for your interest!

-Sam

Also! Check back often, this thread will be updated as info becomes availible!

I think alot of people can get better rates at better hotels through their connections or hotwire/expedia.

Flamingo is kinda ghetto... and $160 per night at flamingo for a room with 2 queens is pretty steep. Excalibur has rooms for around $60-70 range.

Keep us informed.

Is this cross-posted to NorCal forum? Maybe this should just be in the main (coupe) forum, since almost everyone checks there anyway.

I'm so there.

I agree about the Flamingo. Kinda ghetto and Excalibur is much cheaper depending on the time of year.

Weekend rates are higher at all the hotels. As far as the Flamingo being "ghetto", while it is an older casino, they have been doing some remodeling and some of the rooms are quite nice. I went to a wedding there last October and the rooms I saw were nice. The pool area is still one of the best. The casino is not as nice as some though..........kind of plain........no theme.

But what the heck.......this is the place that started the strip......good old Bugsy Seigel had a pretty good vision. Too bad he didn't stay under budget......he may have lived longer.

I was one of the 4 guys who set this up in the Altimas.net site. I am glad to see this got this far on this site. We want to caravan with S.D and all of So Cal and drive up together. Pm me if your interested so we can meet and go. We have our mini Altimas.net meets at the Azuza mall every few weeks. We can meet and plan out the caravan there too.

FYI

This is the same weekend as the Z car nationals held at Motorsport Auto in Orange, CA.

https://www.zcarparts.com/registration_form.htm

This is the biggest show next to ZCON in June and should not be missed.

Can you consider a date change?

Sam,
Won't be able to make it. Going to the Z Nationals. I've heard quite a few are going to the nationals too.
