Default Recommended shop for brake pad install?

Can anyone recommend a shop in the South Bay (Torrance, Gardena) that does quality brake jobs? I need to have my Hawk HPS pads installed. Thanks!

I took it to my dealer, but be aware that at least on the Brebmos, the Hawks need to be shaved down by about 2mm, otherwise they won't fit. The dealer (and most brake shops I presume) won't do it for you becasue of the liability and stuff, so you have to do the surgery yourself.

You can go to signal auto if you want... but I would try church's automotive.

If you are willing to drive check out Street Image in Baldwin Park, CA

They take Saturday appointments.

Yeah, i got my stuff installed by Tetsu too at ES Technical Sports on Artesia in Gardena. They have a 350Z that they race so at least they're familiar with the car. Signal's not bad, but always crowded, the good thing, they are open on sunday.

Thanks for the replies! ES is close to my house, so I'll be giving them a call.

Nope. Sadly I don't have my car...Dreamworkes has it for a few more days. Unless they were driving it...hehehe.

islandsnow: that 350Z is mine actually. Tetsu has pretty much installed everything on my car. Tetsu is actually quite an accomplished driver. He is one of the top guys in his class in SCCA autox. He also drove for TEIN in the pro solo style challenge race against the Prodrive car (he won). He will also be driving in the NASA Honda Challenge in a fully prepared car in 2005. In other words, his driving experience and install experience is a valuable resource for people looking for a long term installer.

Just had my Hawk HPS pads installed by Testu. Installation cost a fraction of what the local Nissan dealerships were charging. I'll ge going back to ES Technical for future installs.

On a side note, I bedded the pads as recommended by Hawk - 8 medium stops from 35mph to 5 mph, and 3 hard stops from 45mph to 0. I then let the brakes cool by driving around, but there's still an occasional squeal. Will that go away as the brakes wear in?

Cool...Tetsu will be happy to know. Maybe I'll see you over at the shop one of these days.
