Miracles DO Happen....
My wife took the Z to work yesterday and called me when she got there.
She was pulled over for speeding on the way to work. She was passing a car and got a little too close to a construction zone. She was on the 5 near magic mountain.
The officer told her she was going 80MPH........
Now comes the miracle........She told me he was as nice as could be. He warned her about speeding and told her she has a lot better things to do with her money than pay a DOUBLED fine for the construction area thing.
Some of you know what my Z looks like.......no front plate, tint, smoked lenses.........He didn't even mention them....
Finally, he told her she had a beautiful car and to enjoy it...but enjoy it safely.....then....he told her to have a nice day, keep the speed down and watch it in construction zones.......AND THAT WAS IT!!! No ticket........no nothing......
Wow.....talk about lucking out....this officer is okay in my book...that's for sure!!

I guarantee if you were the one driving the car, the cop would've made you get out, jump on one leg, bark like a dog and then write you up immediately for both speeding and public indecency!!!! Good to hear your wife didn't get the ticket though. More money for mods!!!

Lucky you, Wedge. I just got nailed last week - 79 in 45 - breaking a 15-year streak. A friend was in town from Florida for one day and after lunch he really wanted to see what my new ride could do and I couldn't let him down so I got stupid and pushed it a little on PCH. The bastard didn't cut me any slack whatsoever. Is there any way to challenge a LIDAR? I really don't think I was close to 79 but don't know if I can prove it.

I agree wholeheartedly that if it was me driving I would have had one heck of a hefty fine and court date. I will be taking my wife with me whenever I buy a lottery ticket from now on......if she is lucky enough to slide by on a traffic ticket, she is lucky enough to win at the lottery.....lol
Sorry to hear about breaking your 15 year streak frenzee. Hope the fine is not too much.

Had a close call myself today. 60-65 in a empty 35 zone and I looked back to see a patrol car flashing the spotlight at me. Took my foot off the gas and he rolled by me on my right staring me down. Gave him a thumbs up and nodded (basically a "thanks for the warning").

zxsaint........glad to hear you found another police officer who knows he can make his point without going through the process of an official (and costly) ticket.

Believe it or not, most of them hate giving tickets for stupid things, but they're ordered to.
While they don't exactly have quotas to meet, they are written up and potentially fired if they don't write 'enough' of them. It's sad but I beleive it's all about revenue for the city.
