wtf...have any of you guys noticed a problem (in the Z, probably not G35) where if you fiddle around with the temp guages/AC, that the doors unlock themselves when they were previously unlocked?

I start the car with the left gauge in the default position (8 o' clock position) and the AC off, but with the fan blowing. I turn the left gauge all the way to the right, which automatically turns the AC on, I turn off the AC, then I return the left gauge to its default position.....this whole process might have to be repeated once or twice, then presto! my doors unlock themselves...

Has anybody heard of such craziness? Feedback appreciated...

Is that some sort of secret unlock just in case some how you get locked in and forgot how to pull the latch on the door?

Hey, I'll be getting a new car pretty soon as well. I'm not getting rid of the G though. As a matter of fact, I'm taking it to Laguna Seca Raceway on the 20th for my first track day. Yeah, by the end of February I'll be rolling in a black Magnum SRT-8. First thing though is a new exhaust. I had the guys at the dealership start it up for me and was a little let down. I mean when I bought my '00 Dakota R/T, it came with a Flowmaster exhaust that sounded so sweet. Anyway, you can't get rid of that mod bug. I might even order the new exhaust before I even get the car. I'll see if they have anything else for it while I'm at the L.A. auto show this weekend.

Later,

Ray

Ok ... so as it sits now I have a plethora of options.

Acura TL, RL (great reliability, luxury, features .... but very resrved cars)
Audi A4, A6 3.2 (Audi quality worries me)
Lexus IS (something about it I don't like .. I don't know..also kinda already feels like the next me too car ... I don't like that)
Lexus GS300 (great deals since the GS300 is being phased out ... but bad for resale)
Infiniti FX35 (05's can be had for a LOT off sticker)
Volvo S60R (pretty sick car .. have to go see it in person)
Subaru Legacy GT (I like this a lot too .. just a lil' shy on luxury)
Audi Q7 ... would have to wait for it
Acura RDX .. again .. summer

no bimmers, no benzes

The new A4's are pretty sweet. I wouldn't worry about the quality too much since even if you do have a problem, the warranty covers absolutely everything and they are easy to deal with.

The new IS is sick even if it is going to become popular.

The S60R is also pretty badass! Interior is still Volvo though!

Didn't think you were looking for an SUV, but the Q7 will be pretty nice. A little on the pricey side though but will be the most luxury of your list.

You should have hit the LA auto show and checked out all of your options!

I hear ya ... I really don't know what I want.

I really do like the Audis ... I guess I should at least go drive them. Trouble is finding one without $15,000 in options

I flip flop on cars everyday ... I really want an S4 ... just don't feel like getting into a big payment for it :/
