Default San Diego Caravan -> Crystal Cove -> Stillen

here's the updated info:
first stop is here per chaze (protocav)
(june 5th - 7:15am)...meeting on mission blvd, which is off the 5, just past the 78. it looks like there is a police station, and the city buildings there, so there will most likely be a lot where we can meet.

then we're off to crystal cove here:
Pacific Coast Highway and Crystal Heights Drive Newport Beach CA, 92657

the only route i'm familiar with is 5N > 73 (toll) > 1. mind you, the toll costs $3 so post up if there is a better route to cc. we can either grab a quick bite there or in costa mesa and then head out to stillen.

i am V1'ified, so i'll bring a set of walkie talkies. better safe than sorry =). i am traveling through mira mesa > 805 > 5, so if anyone wants to roll up to oceanside together, let me know.

Question: Mossy Nissan just told me they'll only charge me 10% of the cost to replace my feathered FRONT tires after 20k mi. Is this fair?
Question: they also showed me my REAR tires are showing the wear indicators and need replacing, but they won't have ANY of the tires in until next week. Do you think its safe to drive up to Stillen with wear indicators showing on rear tires?

hmm, as you know i dont have a z but that mother of a thread regarding feathering has some z members getting free replacements after filing a complaint to Nissan Consumer Affairs. but i dont know what the stipulation is regarding the mileage you currently have.

as for the possibility of not making it out to stillen, even tougher. your trek from imperial beach to costa mesa would be in the neighborhood of 200 miles round trip plus whatever distance you drive tomorrow. maybe you could get professional advice as to whether or not they would be safe for that distance on the freeways with an alignment.

Zman, what time do you plan on being at Crystal Cove? A buddy of mine that lives in RSM wants to go to the Stillen meet with his Z also.

We should meet up in RSM and roll there.

G4s ... here's the deal.

My Nimso kit is painted at Perf Nissan ... but not "dry" enough to put on the car ....

So I talked to Jason yesterday and he thinks my car will be ready on Saturday at 7AM. Which means ....

I may need a ride with someone, Dissident (aka Paul) may be taking me but I am not sure ... so if anyone wants to have a random passenger in the car (this is for the SD guys) I can bring along a V1 and get you some lunch. Jason says they are really close to Stillen, so basically all I would have to do is ride along to the Crystal Cove meet, and then someone has to drop me off and I will grab my car and head right up to stillen.

I know this is a big favor to ask ... but I am just seeing if anyone would want to help me out ...

If the car is not ready however, I would need a ride back home, or I may just get totally PO'd and pout the whole weekend

later
Jim

i wouldnt say its that far...i think its about a 30-40 min drive without traffic. 405-605-210, I do the opposite on friday nights when I go down to Irvine and want to miss traffic.
