Default The Dealer's Screwing Me!!!!!

My "Service Engine Soon" lamp has come on for the fourth time on my 04 Enthusiast.

Each time they say it's an Evap leak, and there's something wrong with my fuel tank.

This last time, I filed a claim with Consumer Affairs.

I got two subs and amps installed in the trunk, and now the dealer is saying that the installation is the reason, and now it's out of warranty.

What should I do?

The audio installer (Creative Audio) is one of the best out there who does show cars. I know the installlation is the reason.

Does anyone know any mod friendly dealers in Southern California?

I'm in desperate need of help. What steps should I take now??

My SES light was coming on so frequently I bought an OBD II scanner so I could clear it each time. It registered that I had a small evaporator leak each time so the dealer kept telling me the gas cap was not tight even though I would turn it until it clicked at least four to five times.

I finally realized after wasting my time at the dealer that it did have to do with each time I filled up. I always added a little more gas to round the total to 25, 50 or 75 cents. I guess I'm a type A.

Anyway, once I experimented and did not add any more fuel once it stopped automatically, I stopped having the SES light!

Give it a shot. There was a TSB on this issue for early 03 models but my car wasn't in the VIN range and yours wouldn't be as an 04.

I had mine fixed with that tsb.I had the ses light come on and they had to reset my ecu so that small leak would not set it off anymore. The mod friendly dealer would be performance nissan in duarte. good luck

I was going to say the same thing about topping off the fuel tank at the pump. I recall a few guys saying that when they did that, the extra gas would overflow into some other recepticle (I can't remember what it was called) and this would set off your CEL.

I also recommend only filling until the pump cuts off and then stopping.

Maybe they figured they drilled through the gas tank. Not too likely.
