Default Anyone in SoCal had aftermarket leather installed?

Hey everyone,

I am 95% of the way to ordering my custom seats from ATD1, but I wanted to know a few things for you all:

Has anyone had aftermarket leather installed in thier cars (in this area LA to SD)?

Who did it?

How much?

Are you happy?

Thanks everyone

Jim

Yes, my dealer (Power Nissan of Torrance) installed black perforated leather seats from Classic Soft Trim. Cost was around $1K. Looks great, and I'm very happy with it.

1k for seat covers? That sounds pretty expensive. Ed (Skar718) is selling 2 complete touring seats for less than that.

I had a Katzkin 2 tone leather interior installed by Katzkin. Excellent fit and finish, better than the factory, in my opinion.

Agree, but Power Nissan of Torrance is Satan, so it's to be expected.

I'm not sure everyone is posting where they got it installed though? I might get a set from ATD1 as well, but just need to know of places to have it installed (experiences you've had, not just random places out of a phone book, which I could do).

I originally was going to go with katzkin and got referred to "Airstream" in Torrance by the Katzkin company for install.

However, "Airstream" convinced me to go with classic soft trim. They said classic is used by dealers whereas katzkin more geared to private consumers. As far as quality diff, I don't know.

Anyways, I got it done by "airstream" at one of their sister locations near Ontario. They did a pretty good job and let me watch the install process which took about 2.5 hrs. They do work for mostly nissan, saturn, chevy dealers so they had a whole fleet of new cars they were working on. mostly seats, wheels, radios, sunroof and all the other stuff dealers add on for markup.

Black leather seat covers with side airbag pouch from "Classic Soft Trim" off Miramar Rd, recommended by Mossy Nissan in Kearny Mesa, where i bot car. Installed 2/17/03. $753. I've since seen way cheaper ($4-500) on ebay. Fit's like factory. Top notch quality.

adidaskobe, so the classic soft trim was $600 installed? I live near Torrance and presume they install it there (though am not sure they'd do it while I wait or not at that location).

I'd like to see what price they have on a orange & grey perf. suede combo.

EDIT: Do you have Airstream in Torrance phone number or web site?

adidaskobe,

How long have you had the seats already? Any wear & tear? I like your color combo. What color is your car?

So the store is located in Huntington Beach?

Do you happen to be in the pasadena/covina area? I like to stop by and take a look at the quality of the seat I you are ok.

Edit: I just called and they want $750 for two colors and $600 for one color.

Thanks,
Tony

I've had the seats for about 6 months, no wear. I condition it regularly.

I'm in inland empire so a far away. I got black/ and ? puddy

Their prices must have gone up? Remember their price is installed. After watching them install, I would not want to do it myself. It took the trained expert a good time to do it right. theres alot of fitting, etc.
