anyone checking the south region forum on g35driver will have already seen this, for everyone else. we're gathering people for a driving event (not sure if it qualifies as a rally though that's what it's being called) here's the link on the g35driver forum: http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57548
anyone who's participated in a Raging Bull Stampede will know youngturk. he'll be there, myself, and as many others as we can gather. the route will consist of meting at Barton Creek mall, up 360, 2222, 2769, Lime Creek (incredible road), Spicewood, 360, barton creek, lost creek, back to the mall. it's going to be an early meeting sunday morning so everyone who wants to make it to church can still make it.

I wanted to keep everyone up to date. Livyathan is checking one more time with the owner in the morning, but it looks like we WILL be allowed to go down to New Braunfels for the Dyno day. I will keep you all posted in the morning when I hear something, so CHECK back! If this is the case we will most likely head back for the mall when we are done driving, talk a little bit and then head south for the Shop. If this is the case we may just grab a bite to eat on the way out of town somewhere or get lunch in New Braunfels.

Hey guys, safety comes first, so please try to prepare your car and yourself before the drive. Some suggestions:
- Make sure your tires have a minimum tread of 3/32 of an inch.
- Check tires pressures - adjust based on your driving style (I usually up the pressure 3-5 psi for more aggressive driving
- Ensure your car's brakes are working perfectly i.e. rotors, pads, fluid level
- Make sure your spare tire is inflated to proper pressure
- Re-torque lug nuts to recommended rate
- Bring a cell phone
- Have a fire extinguisher in your car
- Arrive at the meeting point with a full tank of gas
and, most importantly,
- Drive at your own skill level. Don't try to keep up with faster drivers. There will ALWAYS be faster drivers than you. It's not worth risking your life and health or your car in the shop for several weeks not to mention increased insurance costs.
- Get a good night of rest tonight for maximum alertness.
For more tips, check out the Participant Guide at the Raging Bull Texas Stampede web site at: http://www.rbtexasstampede.com/guide.html (some items don't apply for this drive)
Don't forget your FRS radios!
Turk, Thanks for posting the safety rules! They are all very important. I also wanted to add a few important things from the Stampede rules.
If a Stampede car in front of you is moving a lot slower than you like:
Do NOT tailgate or intimidate them in any way,
Signal them with two short and quick high beams,
Wait PATIENTLY for them to slow down to let you pass at the next straight section of highway
Pass them quickly.
Be extremely careful passing cars on two-way roads (which is what most of the route consists of).
If you are signaled to let someone pass you:
Confirm your receipt of their signal by turning on your four-way (hazard) blinkers for a couple seconds.
During the next straight section of highway slow down slowly about 5-10 mph to allow the car(s) to pass you.
Resume driving at the speed you feel comfortable with.
If you see a dead animal (road kill) on the road, alert your fellow tourists using your radio if you have one.
Also, there are going to be a lot of bicyles on the road in the morning, so we need to be sure to watch out for them. If you see a bike ahead, radio it back to everyone else.
Thanks to everyone who has helped this happen, and I will see everyone in the morning.
