i did a search but that wasnt helpful...anyways, im having traction issues when it comes to racing (1st thru 3rd)...right now i have 275's in the rear on 19x9.5" rims. is it possible to go wider on the rear and not do any modifications to the suspension or even the fenders?

i guess my question would be,

whats the widest i can go on 19x9.5" in the rear without messing with other stuff?

well im runningon 285x30x20 rears.. soo im pretty sure thats a bit wider than what u got.. and i havent had anyttype of problem.. altho it seems im going to probaly be selling the rims.. tires for rims these big and the few brands that can fit em are starting to get quite hefty..

 

Experiment with tire pressure ---Less is more when it comes to traction ---But dont forget to air up before u leave the track

 

hmmm...ive tried to experiment with tire pressure but it still has traction issues, once i go into boost, i fishtail....which sux, cuz im letting off the gas at like 5300 RPM's to prevent an accident....you think a 285x35 will fit in the rear with no problems, on 19x9.5?

Ok --- Other than goin to softer compounds , Best thing is good burnouts to get the tires hot -- Next thing is contact Avalon Racing ( Do a search --I dont have the # handy ) Their cool ----Now ---I_ have the adjustable tractiom Bars from Kinetix,, Mainly for alignment fine tuning but call them and ask them bout them --Their cool too---Im Super Charged so I dont have quit the prob but have friends that are Turboed and havin probs ---I havent had the time to research. Stiffer , adjustable sway bars maybe? Stillen makes a nice reasonable set 7%-70% over stock depending on settings

why the 275's? and not wider?

 

It all depends on the tire. I had 285s before and couldn't get traction. If you are going to race, get drag radials!

 

drag radials daniel if u want to race.
if on the street might want to get a softer compound tire and go with a 18" wheel with a juicy tire, which allows u to play around with tire pressure.
other than that i really dunno?
