No, it's the 15th of February. It's next month. Just trying to get the word out early so everyone can plan on making it.

Last year we did a cruise around Lake Travis on Lime Creek Road and had over 35 Z cars participate.

Rodel,

We also have an Informal Texas Statewide Z Gathering on the 1/18, next Saturday, which include a ride around Lime Creek. May be that caused the confusion for Anthz. I almost thought it is the same event.

Anthz,

Check out the club website for the detail. I plan to be there. Hope you could too, time to show off your new Z.

Uh, Rodel, you think it's a good idea to host it the day after Valentine's Day???

I guess if all else fails, I can take the g/f to Austin on Valentine's Day for a long weekend...

Michael.

Is anyone down for a Friday trip into Austin for a little Austin-type fun the night before?

If so, let me know. We could get a few rooms at the Double Tree on I-35 and 290 (I stay there for all my car meets...they know me well. ) and go to Sixth Street Friday night. We could eat at Bone Daddy's Smoke House and all the usual "Austin stuff."

I'm afraid that if I go Friday night and party with my little brother, there is no way I'd make it to any type of meet on Saturday.
Or Sunday, for that matter.

Anyone up for an Austin night before the "drive?"

I can't imagine driving up from Houston, driving 180 miles after arrival, and then driving back!

That is, hmmm, out of the question.

Since I'm here already I'm up for any pre Saturday events and I'm always up, and I mean up for Bonedaddys.

Bonedaddy's: A cross between Hooters and Catholic girls school.

Hey! That could work!

We eat there all the time at my other car club.
Have you ever had Bone Daddy's ribeye steak?

They first cold smoke it in a special blend, then they flame grill it to your liking! Yummy!

You know, wars have been fought over less.

180 miles? That's a lotta driving...do y'all get crazy and cut each other off and stuff? Or just sedately follow each other? If it's high speed, I might be interested...

Let me tell you, it was fun with two 350z running on the interstate, you get lot of looks too

We also got the 2way radio, so we were communicating all the time, testing out radars, etc

We got to 140mph when we had a chance to run on open road, but that was it...Lots of cops though..

We'll do it again next month, anyone from Houston wanna join us?

Yes...please keep me posted on the date! I have at least 3 other 350Z owner friends who would probably be interested. Hill country driving is EXCELLENT!

ATC Ken, the date will be Feb. 15th, Saturday. So far we have two people confirmed to go up there...Let me know if you are interested to go together. We'll probably leave around 8:30am - 9am..

If you leave around west side (I-10/Hwy-6), it takes abour 2hrs to get there..

We'll keep you posted as the date gets closer..

I went last year in the 300. I think the fastest I went was like 60mph. Average speed was like 30mph. Although it was slow, it was interesting. Let's just say that my g/f nearly got sick from riding w/ me.

If the route this year includes the route from last year, then I think you'll enjoy it.

Save the fast stuff for HPDE's.

Track:

I also like to stay at Double Tree hotels because of the parking garage and awesome cookies they have. Let me know if you're staying there for sure...

BTW, last year, we drove 300+ miles to Austin, ate lunch at Dave & Buster's, did the drive, had dinner at Rudy's BBQ (awesome place, but parking sucks!!!), and drove 300+ miles back.

Michael.
