Default Concealed Permit Question

My Texas concealed permit expired July 05, and I need to renew it, but I currently live in Colorado.

Anyone know what I need to do? I am assuming when I re-apply for the renewal I have to take everything all over again? Is their a grace period, ect?

No I don't think it's the same tests, I'm sure it's only 4 hours long, as far as grace period you might better call TX. DPS.

once the permit expires, its like you never had one. so you'll have to go through the whole process again, NO grace period.

Not true, there many states that allow you to carry your gun with your permit but not all states you must call TX Dept.of Public Safety to get a list of these states.

Not true. Texas CHL is recognized in many adjacent states and some up north also. There is a revised list. I have it at home. I recently took the renewal course in November 2005. Here's the link to the Texas DPS site.

Here's a link to the states that recognize the CHL

There is a 1 year grace period to renew. After 1 year has passed from the expiration date, you'll have to take the original course over.
