Default Nismo exhaust install??

Can you guys recommend a place to get my nismo exhaust installed. I know SGP specializes in nissan's. Any other respectable shops or if somebody can do it for me, I can pay them. Thanks

I'm sure you can find someone willing to help you DIY it if you don't feel up to it or aren't equipped. What part of town do you live in?

I'd help no prob, but I work weekdays till 4 and live in Friendswood. It's best to have a floor jack and jackstands for the install; you got that stuff? Anyway, I'd be happy to help out if you wanna bring it to my place; I have everything needed. Just PM me.

Yeah definitely a DIY project. Just take a digital picture of what it looked like before and then just unbolt the factory and put in place Nismo exhaust just like the stock one before. Congrats on your new purchase!! You will love the sound when you step on the gas!!

damn friendswood is far like hell from katy. thanks for the offer man, but i think i will try to do it myself. took a look underneath it doesn't look to difficult. is there an exhaust install guide or a reference I could use. Also what are all the tools I would need for the install? I don't have any jack stands but i do have a floor jack. I have some ramps but they look too steep.

floor jack, buy some jack stands from sears or somewhere for like 20-30 bucks.. wd-40.. i think its a 14mm deep socket... not to sure on the size, but you will need a deep socket.. and time . about an hour , hour and a half...

Yeah, you deff. need stands or back it up onto ramps. Helps get you a little more space if you drive the front up on some boards, then jack up the rear and put on stands. +1 on the 14mm deep socket. You'll need a couple other basic socket sizes and a box end wrench or two. Torque specs are on the sheet that comes with the new hardware. I did a little DIY write-up a while back when I did mine by myself; let me see if I can find it for you...

Couldn't find it. Anyway, I took ou the midpipe first, then the Y-pipe and finally the muffler section. Install in reverse order. Hit all the bolts/nuts with WD40 and let it soak a while before you start. Spray silicone on the rubber hangers to make it easier getting them loose. The muffler section is awkward to handle on your own, so a friend to help is good, otherwise, take your time and lay under the rear of the car, using your chest to support the muffler coming off and going on. Assemble it all loosely by hand before torquing anything down. Don't forget the ground strap.

After the install, my right tip was a bit higher than the left, so I took the muffle back out, removed the heat sheild and bent down the hanger about a quarter inch with a length of pipe; worked like a charm.

finally got the exhaust on. i had a friend do it who owned a shop. the only thing is it seems like the passanger side tip is a little higher than the driver side tip. Also, I was expecting it to be a little louder, but I still love the sound of this exhaust. Thanks guys for all your help

I have the same problem...I bent the hanger a little and it fixed up pretty well. You can hardly tell unless your really looking at the car. I've noticed all nismo exhausts pretty much do that. Even the factory exhuast seems to have the same problem except that the tip is angled so you can't tell.

yep, just take the muffler section back off, then the heat sheild, slip a hollow pipe over the end of the hanger and bend it down about 1/2"; that'll fix it right up.
