Cool Invisible Car Bra

I just bought an 06 350Z a couple weeks ago and I am considering putting an invisible car bra on. Does anyone have any experience with these? What is the best product on the market for this?

Cool

I have, but nobody has given any good installers in the Dallas area. Also wondering if anyone else out there has considered trying to get a group buy discount. Let me know.

clear bras aren't worth it imo. since they aren't really clear and I've heard that some people have had paint come off with the clear bra. plus its expensive which means I could just have someone repaint the front of my car for about the same price.

I have seen volume pricing as low as about $450 per car, so it doesn't really cost much.

Rob, i know you are coming to the meet saturday, there will be cars out there with clear bra's...check it out for yourself and ask the owners how the like it, personally, I am not going to get one....MICSZ runs a lower old school bra on his interlagos and it looks good so that might be an option also.....my car is magnetic black so i know how you feel, I just stay back from traffic and try not to get to close to the marbles....to date I have one chip on mine after 5 months.....

thats about as much as a repaint would cost imo. Like i said you cant really take it off and also dirt will make teh clear bras edges stand out over time.

Seems like you wouldn't want to drive around with paint chips and scratches though for that time between paint jobs.

I'm not saying I don't get paint chips. I prob have ten chips on the front of my car but I don't even see them unles I'm up close when I'm waxing my car. its just that I don't think clear bra is the answer that's all. besides a chipped up front is a good excuse for a body kit.

Okay, well I have heard a lot of good feedback from this line of products and I am considering getting it. I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there that wants to go in at the same time and try to get volume pricing.

Default Not for Me!

I agree with those who elect NOT to get the clear Bra. Not because I
normally use the old school bra on mine, but because anything under 1k is going to be cheap and you will most likely have problems down the road.

I have also heard from those who have clear Bra's some horror stories and
only a couple good stories.

When comparing, I found that overall your better off with old school and
then eventually having it repainted or a new body kit.

Good Luck, but be smart.

What types of horror stories have you heard? I haven't heard anything but posative feedback.

You get what you pay for and I talked to a couple guys at the Z Convention who told me some horror stories about others that bought the clear bra and paid less looking for a cheap way to go. Well they got what they paid for and a whole lot of headaches.

A couple of problems indicated:

material was cheap and changed color
material bubbled really bad
upon trying to remove the clear bra to fix a problem, paint came off with it.
installer cut the material on the car. Nuff Said on that one!!

These same guys will be at the June 3rd meet in Grapevine, so wait until you talk to some of them before making your decision.

I will definitely be waiting until then. I am not looking at cutting corners on cost by the way. I am also considering the complete hood instead of having a line across it. I will see everyone there on the 3rd, assuming you will still be hanging out around 5pm.

Question

Anyone who will be at the meet on Friday have the Clear Bra full hood install? I would like to get a chance to see it.

I have had my DB Z about a year now. I put a clear bra on it right after I got it. I would not trade for it. I went to get the oil changed at the Nissan dealership this past wekend. There was 2004 Z there for sell. It looked horrible with all the chips it had in it. I think the clear bra is the only way to go.

I am very happy with the clear bra. It's great when I wash the car and the front bumper looks clean as it was when I first got it painted.

If this is the bad feedback on it, I am definitely going to get one.
