Legionnaire, definitely come if you can. We're all about new people/cars coming to the meets. You don't have to ask to show up at any of our meets, just show up. Nothing formal here.

Advice
Guys,
I could use some advice.
The first time I waxed my Z I notice that the front bumper came out
looking as though it had 80,000 miles of rock chips. Knowing that the
car is brand new with less than 4,000 miles on it and that I keep a bra
on the car, I was to say the least some what perplexed.
I took the car to the dealer to fix under warranty and everyone who
looked at the car couldn't figure out why it looked that way other than
a factory defect.
Well I called to check on it the other day while they have it in the
body shop and they said they examined the paint under a microscope
and found that all the spots are impacts.
Obviously, there is no way but my car went from new repainted parts
to sanded and repainted old parts, which pisses me off.
Anyway, The only thing I can figure is that the paint had junk in it close
to the surface and when I waxed it I pulled the junk out leaving what might
appear to be impacts. Since I don't know what they consider an impact
under a microscope I can only assume they are looking at chips only.
I would think impacts would also have dimples under a microscope.
Has anyone heard of this before or know anyone who would know
what caused this?
I could use some advice.

I would ask them for a copy of these "tests" they say they did. Are they suggesting they shipped your bumper off to a lab to have the paint evaluated under a microscope? Ya right. Consider the expense of shipping, lab study, results delivery, etc they may as well have just given you a brand new painted bumper for about half the cost.
I think they are BS'ing you. Given the unusual circumstances of the damage, unless they can prove to you that it is not a defect then they are liable.
If they give you resistance, then don't be frictional or anything. Just thank them for their time and go home and call your lawyer. My guess is a call from your lawyer to the dealer will get wheels spinning in your favor.
Just curious... which dealer?

They didn't ship anything anywhere, they just examined the defect areas with microscope. I assume its a special tool for examining damage.
Anyway, I just feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick AGAIN.
The dealer is Bankston Nissan in Lewisville and they have been great
in all respects to date. This issue is new and I wish I knew what caused
the defect.

Seriously though man, I think they are BSing. Who in the body shop do you think has the expertise, skill, or training to do forensic evaluation on your bumper to determine the difference between a paint defect and an impact.
Now, I know these guys can look at a problem and say "ah, that's been there for a while". And they do have the expertise to determine if a car has been damaged and then repaired to cover it.
But microscopes and impact analysis? Not a chance. Not at a dealer. (think about the dealers you've been to in the past, ya know?)
But that's just my 0.02. At least they are fixing it for you. Hopefully for free.

I raced a black C6 Vette from a 40mph roll today. I left him and was ahead by half or a full car length by the time we hit 80mph. I was pretty happy about it.
So you will have your car this weekend right?
