Angry Ebay Special CAI, dont kill me.

OK OK! I know they suck but considering how much it was it turned out OK Maybe not the greatest but lets just say i have learned my lesson

ok to start it came with no instructions... and it was NOT made for the Z i dont know what it was made for but (lets see if i can get the pics working) this is what it came with:

Ok theres no way that fits in my car... So i hacked it, Took the hacksaw and cut ... about 2 feet off it lol. So After i ghetto hacked it i was very tempted to just put the stock box back in but i figured, What the hell ill just go with it. Final product was this:

And this is something else i had to ghetto so the filter didnt bounce around too much:

Well All in All i think it was a HUGE mistake buying it and as soon as i can im going to replace it I learned my lesson and will never but that cheap crap from Ebay again. Please dont flame too much. But I do deserve some.

Edit: Hmm I cant see pics on my comp so i dont know if they are working so heres the links

congratulations, you offically made a popcharger out of that cai. all in all not a bad job. cai's arent all they are made out to me. if it sounds good and you feel a little gain with what you have now, stick with it. otherwise, lol, i would recommend...... a jwt popcharger over any cai.

Thumbs up

That is funny. Yea sometimes ebay CAIs do not fit good. I bought a couple on my past mustangs and they needed some adjustments. Honestly ebay cai's and name brand cais should show similar gains, will in this case short ram intakes.

Does not look bad though.

Big difference is cheap materials. but as long as everything is cut right and the diameter of the pipe is right, thumbs up.

My old ebay cai in stang.

I think paying 80 bucks for the Z tube is dumb. You could just buy the ebay intake and use the pipe. Your intake is ok! If you don't like it, put the plastic tube back on and use the filter only!

Not bad at all for 20 bucks and some fabrication. I would suggest you make some kinda guard to keep excess heat and road dirt off the filter from the engine. Like what the pop charger comes with. Did you notice any gains?

good job. sometimes the best part of DIY is getting it to work. so what if its not name brand, if u had fun and u like it, it's all that matters.

Well it whistles like the JWT pop does, and it might just be my imagination but i might get a few extra HP from it. OR it might just be the placebo effect.

I had an Injen someone gave me for free and I turned it into a short ram. It sucked in engine heat aka HAI (hot air intake) so I removed it and went back to stock. I dyno significantly higher with a stock intake and just an exhaust and 19 inch wheels than most other Zs with a bunch of bolt ons on the same dyno. At least 20 bucks won't kill you.

My jwt never whistles.....Just mades a weird sound of air sucking in. Sounds like the transmission, sounds cool tho.
