[Houston]: Houston Shops: Update with experience
Mike ... I hate you but I talked to a guy in a meeting today who recently got in an accident and took his car to Master Auto Body & Upholstery. He was super impressed with their work. Checked out their reviews on Google and everybody seems happy. Figured I would pass it along for you to check out. I am gonna get a quote from them for my bumper in the near future since they are close to where I work and live it would be convenient.
Here is el linko to their site Master Auto Body & Upholstery
And to the google reviews on them Reviews

Full Service Shops:
Shop Name: Powerfab Auto
URL: http://www.powerfabauto.com/
Dyno: Yes
Experience:
Currently working on my FX35, doing a full custom turbo with Haltech EMS & return fuel system on my VQ engine. Also doing a full longblock package with built lower end. Communication with them has been great (daily) and I know I'm a pain in the *** customer. Powerfab likes to use proven, quality parts and IMO it's worth the money. Even good shops can get into trouble when agreeing to use unproven crap parts.
Build is ongoing, so I will need to update this thread with the completed experience. Dropped the car off May 10.

JTran
I was having issues with my self-installed bolt-on Z throwing codes and stalling... figured the dealership would tell me to just uninstall the mods and charge me a crazy diagnostic fee.
JTran hooked me up in 30 minutes with an UPREV tune and pulled a before and after dyno and fixed all my problems. The reason it took him such a amount short time was he already had a map saved on his computer for a car with similar mods to work from but he actually did an extra pull to tweak the settings for my car.
Take your Z to this place before going to dealership.

baseline was 220hp@6300rpm 200ft/lbs@2800rpm the a/f ratio was pretty bad so he he didn't pull to baseline, also he adjusted the rev limit so the second pull was 240hp@6700rpm 216ft/lbs@2900rpm... I can't really claim +20hp since we didn't pull the second run to the same rpm but on the second pull I was at 233hp@6300rpm so its fair to say +11 hp +16tq
These numbers are in line with what I have seen for similar mods on a non-revup 5at z/g
More importantly my car isn't stalling anymore and can now pass inspection.

BIG thanks to JTran Studios, more importantly Amber! Car was having some issues that I, again, didn't have time to diagnose. I dropped it off this morning unannounced and received a call 15mins ago it was ready. This is service that everyone would approve of! Thanks again Amber!!!
