[DFW]: Dallas Shops: Update with experience
Just moved to Dallas and I think I have a bad starter or alternator.
What's a good shop either near south McKinney to university park/ south Richardson I can get it tested and replaced.

Not sure if they're replicas or not but they're just regular Nismo side skirts, specifically USDM spec. There's no such thing as Nismo V2 side skirts.
@AcidJake75
I guess you had some bad experience with Stephen then.
I, personally, still like his work and yes I'll be coming back for more work to be done to my car lol.
So, you just got your V2 painted only to trade it for a V3 in poor shape right away? Seems like a waste of money.
BTW, there will always be people who are satisfied and people who are dissatisfied with workmanship of every shop. I have not seen a single shop where it was all one sided and have not heard of a shop not making any mistakes. It's all in how they address any negative issues as they arise, and of course the lower the frequency of such experiences the better.
I've had a few shops and various people work on my Z throughout my ownership and every single one of them (including me) has done something wrong at one point. Of course, those issues were addressed and rectified as they occurred.

There is one shop that stands to me, as far as it seems like no one has an issue with them. They are in CA though haha. http://www.yelp.com/biz/sounds-of-speed-santa-clara
Went there for exhaust work, as recommended by Z Car Garage, and then for oil changes at school. It's two guys who run it, and they are just plain nice guys and car guys. They don't mind if you go back with them to look at stuff, and they always show me the other projects they have in there, like a fully restored 280Z. When I had my MD exhaust tips extended the guy was like I'll just bring them straight back, but don't tell anyone you got it done here, since it wasn't perfect in his eyes. They also would do oil changes for me on the ground if their lifts were taken.
Sorry for the total random post, but reading some of the earlier ones got me reminiscing. Doubt I could ever find a shop like that again, at least that isn't some super nice and expensive place. Luckily we have Jake, and he pretty much fits the bill.

So I read through all these posts and does anyone else know of machine shops and or mechanic/auto shops that could bore out my motor and build my shortblock in Dallas? Or even anywhere in texas??
I've got a buddy that went to the School of Automotive Machinists in Houston. He doesn't do any of that now, but he probably knows someone. He's all muscle cars, but I don't know if that will matter. I'll ask him tomorrow.

Previous owner also plasti-dip the lip which was a nono for me as well and I want it to be gloss black lol
