Default Any thing fun do to in Houston?

I'm going to be in Houston at the end of next month for a conference with my girl friend and i need some ideas about what to do after. So can any locals share where some cool places to go are, or things to do?

My first impulse was to reply in the negative since Dallas is cool and Houston is not. Just an unfounded rumor.

But first, please define "cool places" and "things to do". That way, we might be able to give you some guidance. You know, the kinds of things in Dallas that might interest you in Houston, and beyond.

The Aquarium resturant is pretty neat. There are a lot of things at Bayou Place @ Downtown to waste some time at. The Kemah boardwalk is pretty neat to go to as well.

Dallas isn't cool by any means. Ive lived here for 20 years, trust me its very boring (in my opinion). We have a couple malls about 15min away, but downtown is dead at night unless you want to talk to the homeless.

Thanks bdmpastx for the links! Exactly what i was looking for. If all else fails we could always drive down to the coast.

Main street closes off on weekends and you can go bar hopping up and down the street. There are all sorts of bars and restaurants to hip up. There is also live music most of the time. Its kinda like Deep Ellum in Dallas.

Besides that, you can always go to a titty bar, plenty of those, plus you girl can get in free to most of them.

Hope you have fun!

See what you do is get your lady tired by taking her shopping in The Galleria so at night you can call us up and we can hit up The Mens Club!!!!

Serious though there are a whole bunch of things to do in Downtown on the weekends, there's the Galleria for shopping, Rice Village for some bar hopping, Kemah is a nice drive and if it's a nice day, have your Z w/ you, you can always try and convice us to go on a cruise. GL dude.

you can always stay at the hotel and have some fun of your own with the lady.....or make some sweet love to yourself....you can go wrong with that....

i suggest crome...its a good club. hue also, but i dont know if its still open, anyone know, i havent been there in about 5 months.

whereabout you gonna in houston, maybe you answered, but im too lazy to read....

i myself just go to local bars and then call it a night...im more of a laid back and chill type of person, the company you bring makes the night fun...

Good deal man! Im fairly certain i'll be staying at the Sheraton Houston Brookhollow Hotel. Its cheap and in downtown(ish) from what i can tell. The haunted house thing is a great idea!
