I'm assuming State Farm and Allstate are the best for M/C insurance?

BTW, I only need M/C insurance, I currently use USAA for all my other insurance needs, nobody beats them, hands down. Too bad they don't have M/C insurance!

Thanks!
Pay cash and get liability only if your state tracks your insurance. I have Illinois plates, but live in Georgia--so after I get an insurance card and let one month go by, I cancel liability--Georgia can't track it--and they let me go when they see my insurance card. Afterall, if you get in an accident on a bike, your liability is the least of your worries.

You can get motorcycle insurance much cheaper if you have a car with the same company, because you can get the motorcycle as a secondary mode of transportation. Having the MC on it's own policy is going to hurt you. For that reason, I'd go with the advice others are giving, and just get liability or liability + theft. I never got USAA in the military, but all my friends who did and then got rid of it are upset because you can't get it again once you leave them.

As long as you don't total the bike, you should be OK even if you drop it a few times as far as repairs. It is easy to total a bike though if you lowside it and it slides into a curb, or you highside and it goes end over end. So... be careful!
