DFW - Good dealer experience with transmission warranty...so far.
Ok, so far so good. I went to the dealership again this morning and talked to some service advisor named Roger (Mark Bailey wasn't at his desk). He took my keys from me, and returned in like 3 minute saying, "my transmission guy said he doesn't even need to drive it. If it's grinding, it's grinding. We don't have one right now, but we'll order one and give you a call back..." So yea, I'm getting another transmission replaced. But this dealership, so far, is much much much better than the one in McKinney. After everything's done, I'll get back to you guys on how I'd rate their service quality and customer service.

That's good to hear man. Sounds like Courtesy Nissan doesn't mess around when it comes to these things. I hope we both get a good one so that we don't have to go back again.

I beat your record. They didn't even come see my car. They were gone for 3 minutes max and told me they'll do it. I just hope they don't f*ck up on the swap or give me bullsh1t after they are done, like McKinney did. I'll stop by on my way there. PM me your last name and maybe a description of your car so I can ask the same for yours.
And I have a feeling the meet's going to last a while. I know I'm not gonna want it to end right after we're done eating. If it's like our other meets (yes, you're still a noob and you only came to one so I understand) it'll be pretty long and we'll go somewhere else after just hanging out.

Would mentioning you help my service? haha If so, I need your name so I can bring you up too.
***Update*** Just got a call from Courtesy Nissan saying my tranny came in.
That was fast! Mark wasn't in this morning and I'm suppose to call him Monday to set up an apppointment. I'll give you guy more updates as I go. Since I am getting the fuel recall done at the same time I'll be needing to empty my tank down to the last 1/4 before I go in. Time to start doing clutch/flywheel research

Does anybody here know how the dealership handles the clutch when replacing the tranny? Do they do it and cover the cost? Can you bring your own aftermarket pieces? How does that affect the powertrain warranty? I've read threads regarding this topic with many different results and scenarios. I'm thinking about doing the clutch + flywheel at the same time. Chris, I know you are looking into that Excedy clutch. What did Courtesy say about that?

So yes, they will do it and it will not void your warranty.
i'm so happy now, i don't have to worry about bring my tilton in for the tranny problem, i hope. My clutch is a little extreme so they might try to say that it caused it, but i hope not.
if i ever have to take it in for that problem...the guy i bought it from said he had it done and i haven't noticed a problem yet.
is it easy to identify a 009 tranny?

Todd, can you tell me who your service advisor was?
Nick, I'm not sure how to identify trannies, but from my limited knowledge, they only get the 009 trannies for replacements. You can always tell them to get the 009 to make sure. I think there was a thread on how to identify, or rather a classified thread that had somebody selling a transmission that was 009 and he had pics to show it was 009. Hope this helps.
