DFW - Good dealer experience with transmission warranty...so far.

I got my car back today from the dealership and everything so far looks pretty good. I must say Courtesy Nissan has done an exceptional job in taking care of my car in a timely manner. My experience with them has been easy and pain free. There’s been significant work done to my car and I am going to monitor the results the next couple of days. So far everything looks great and I a happy customer. At this point I would strongly suggest anybody in the DFW area with their modified or stock Zs to check them out with warranty or regular maintenance needs. As for the JWT combo, I am still trying to get use to it. My Z drives and accelerates completely different now.

BTW, did you get the clutch installed for free and only paid for the flywheel installation?

^ You had to pay for the oil change right? Just an update, with the new tranny my 5th and 6th gear were a bit tight just like Chris and Todd had mentioned. A couple of times I had trouble getting the car into reverse. After driving the car a couple of weeks 5th gear is normal now. I am still getting resistance with 6th sometimes. Hopefully it'll work itself in over time.

Yea, like Todd already mentioned, with time, the 5th and 6th gear will be easier to shift into. My 5th feels almost like what it should be and 6th is much better than before.
My clutch is also feeling so much better now that it's broken in more. I'm still not completely through with the break-in mileage, though.
Jim, how's your clutch and flywheel compared to stock? Differences and similarities? Pros and cons?

Well I wasn’t really going to post anything about the JWT setup since so many people already have it. Since you asked Chris I’ll give you my impression of it so far. First and foremost the most noticeable difference from stock is the engagement point. The JWT engages very low to the floorboard. If this were a no nub spring type clutch I would be driving my car like Nick. I am a bit disappointed in the grabbing force of this clutch. I’ve driving ACT street clutches before and they have that extra punch when the pressure plate grabs. Pretty much in a nutshell besides the engagement the clutch exhibits very stock like characteristics. Now the flywheel change is very noticeable. I get a little bit of clutch chatter below 2500 rpm but that doesn’t really bother me. With the flywheel weight pretty much cut in half (JWT 14 lbs & stock is 30 lbs) The car revs much faster. Many times I feel that I don’t have enough rpm to accommodate each gear. It almost feel like that each gear is too short. However, because the rpm come so much quicker than stock, the acceleration of the car seems to be faster. In a nutshell, the best I can describe it is that I’m almost driving the car one gear lower. For example, under normal driving I’m generally around 4th gear when I hit 65 mph. Now I find myself sitting in 3rd. It’s definitely going to take some getting use to. The JWT combo is very friendly compared to most aftermarket systems. Final synopsis: Good combo that’s user friendly but not something you want to go with if you are looking for something more aggressive. I have a feeling I'll be swapping this set out in the near future when I go F/I.

sorry to revive this thread, I know it's been almost two years, but cuz of that I want to make sure if the courtesy Nissan is still giving A+ service today...
I'm gonna need to have my window fixed soon (window motor issue), as well as the tranny problem, 2nd and 3rd grinds EVERY time I shift... worse than before...
