Default Fake Cop

Just a warning for those of you on the Northeast side of town. This incident happened yesterday at around 3:30 am on my way to work. I had just pulled out on to 1604 west near the Gold Field subdivision in Converse and had only gone about a quarter of a mile when I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a vehicle with it's head lights flashing (like a police car) coming up behind me pretty fast. I initially thought it was a cop so i started to pull over but realized it didn't have any of the blue lights flashing, just the headlights. I decided to keed going and if I saw it was a cop later I would pull over. The vehicle proceeded to pull right up on my @$$ and stay there. I was pretty sure it wasn't a cop so I didn't pull over and kept going. As we got a little farther down 1604 he shut of the flashers and sped past me. It turned out to be some knucklehead in a gold colored Chevy pickup. I'm not sure what his intentions were, but I'm glad I didn't stop.

i've had a couple of co-workers that have done false police pull overs before... not smart for either party... if they get caught... SERIOUS penalties... if you stop... god only knows,,,

but if you dont stop and it is a real cop... guess what again... grab the K-Y Gelly...

You should have called 911 and asked if there was an officer in your area trying to stop your car. If not give them a play by play of your direction and they could have hit him with this.

§ 37.11. IMPERSONATING PUBLIC SERVANT. (a) A person
commits an offense if he:
(1) impersonates a public servant with intent to
induce another to submit to his pretended official authority or to
rely on his pretended official acts; or
(2) knowingly purports to exercise any function of a
public servant or of a public office, including that of a judge and
court, and the position or office through which he purports to
exercise a function of a public servant or public office has no
lawful existence under the constitution or laws of this state or of
the United States.
(b) An offense under this section is a felony of the third
degree.

we got some m3's around here that installed the blue/red lights in their cars with the siren sounds, so I don't know if they go around tricking ppl too, but in that situation, i wouldn't know if to pull over or not ...

in all defenses, just say you were afraid for your life cuz you didn't know if it was a legit cop or not if they do take you to court.

I would still say your best bet is to just call 911, and find an area that is heavily populated and pull right next to the front doors where you have several witnesses, in case he is not legit, and if he is, you will at least have record that you called the PD and was not attempting to evade. Or if your close enough drive to the police station.

Probably a good reason for people not to get on here and sell police lights

I think there is another number (I really can't recall) you could call to find out if there is any cops around the area you're at, and they could find out if the cop is real or not. Anybody know that number?

Default Fake cops and other A**holes

Just slow to a crawl and wait for them to pass, then put 300 ponies on their ***, get the plate and phone it in...

Did that to a jerk last weekend, turned out to be a State Judge !!!

I guess he's done it before because the Sherriff's knew him and wanted to know the direction and speed he was traveling.

Hope I made his day !!!

I'm a little late on this, but this happened to my mom a LONG time ago. She just rolled up to the police station and the bastard kept on trucking.

Also, recently it happened around here again. Apparently they pulled over an off duty officer. As for the offender, he got his @$$ beat.

My friend and I have a loud speaker with a police siren built into it and you would be surprised as to how many people just FREAK out when they hear it! AHAHAHAHA!!! They never know where its coming from! All they hear is the siren and an angry voice saying "PULL THE VEHICLE OVER NOW OR WE WILL BE FORCED TO OPEN FIRE!" AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHAHAHAHA!!!
