Are there any of you guys out there?? Am moving there in about 2 weeks and would love meet and get involved in the Z scene over! thanks

 

Not much of a Z scene in those little border towns... I'm from the valley and go at least 3-4 times a year and you have a better chance finding something in McAllen...... Welcome to the Valley...

 

Going to the valley? Your pedaling backwards! JK. Grew up there and dont miss it too much. Its too hot and too slow. I only saw 1 Z when i was down in Brownsville for week about a month ago. It was driven by a nice old lady. She said my car was very cute.

Warning every neon and cavalier with a fart can will try to lure you into a race.

There is more of a 240 scene down there aside from the usual mustang/f-body clubs.

 

^^ +1 yeah man no kidding...I grew up in Brownsville as well and go back every chance I get to go to the island.........However, I drove my Z down there once and everybody wanted to race me.......Tons of ricers with f*&k ugly cars and neon will want to race!!! Now I only fly and have my cousins pick me up.......Good luck!!!

 

More Brownsville guys then I thought. They're right... BTW word to the wise.... DO NOT!!!! drive your car into Mexico.... To much corruption, and cartel.... I was cruising the plaza in Brownsville (cuz thats all there is to do)
and the guys will try to race you, but the girls will try to get you to cross the border..... Never fell for those Cartel chicks I like my car too much.....

Not what you're used to in San Ant. but I think you'll get by... Girls, just like anyother city. Got your good ones and bad ones.... Just a smaller selection.... LOL

Oh yeah... In Harlingen there's a little place called Stiletto's.

Small town USA... Well thats most of the valley.
Thats is dead center of Brownsville and Harlingen.... About a 20 min drive to get to either one, so your not to bad off. You know you're in San Benito when you see that Big A$$ water tower with Freddy Fender painted on it.... LOL.... Lot of bikers like to go there too.... At least you save alot of money....

 

That area isn't so bad it is very cheap to live and one of the best beaches in texas at south padre island. I lived there for almost two years and had a z about 3/4 of the last year. I have a friend who lives there and has a z. we would go to McAllen to race and on import night every car there was trying to race me because i had a yellow z. It hot there best time i ever turned there was like a 14.0 @ 101 car was stock though there were some guys in McAllen who were starting a z club down there. If your single and have any kind of game at all there is more *** there than you can shake a stick at.

 

07 smb z in Donna! just got it in July. havent been to or heard of a Z club down here. plenty of damn neons with coffee can exhausts... i wanna hurt ppl when i hear them making all that noise stopped at a red light... LOL

 

05' daytona blue z i'm from weslaco and there aint many z's out here at all, hey but thats a good thing. i have a 00' gt mustang and it sucks because their everywhere. i think someone needs to organize a monthly meeting or something.

 

well i just moved up to SA from McAllen, which IMO is the best city by far down there. Harlingen has cruise nights on Saturdays and i hear they still hold up races, they tend to have fast cars. McAllen cruise nights are thursdays and the scene there is basically dead, the cops have nothing else better to do. Joing RGVimports.com and get a taste of what you are getting into as far as car scene goes, its stuggling to survive. Look around and you will find a small amount of Z enthusiasts down there....i know of 7 Z's that are enthusiasts in McAllen. 2 are Greddy TT, 1 is Supercharged, and the rest are NA. In Harlingen i remember racing a group of 3 Z's one of which now is fully bolted i think and the other two who knows.
