Hey guys... I'm working on getting some software to do a "mock-up"

one reason is to illustrate it for your guys another is to provide it to our anodizer to get him a good idea of what We're looking for...

and meaj82... thanks for making my life easier... we're not sure if we will have to do the brushing for sword edge ourselves or have the manufacturer do it.... but that's really nothing for you guys to worry about...

I'm really trying to lay down some solid plans for LEDs in the handles... but we're really trying to plan ahead for expansion... Do LEDs in the handles sound good to you guys or no? If not i'll take some Tylenol and end my headaches... LOL
also if Handles with the LEDs are purchased we're already looking into and laying plans down for a "plug-n-play" computer system that will eventually integrate all these different lighting options into "schemes" that can be customized to user's preference or even change from day to day...

either way that's a little down the road... but as Spectrix-Design progresses all of our pieces will fit into a greater puzzle... The picture completed is going to be Beautiful...

you guys would hopefully be surprised at our plans for the future...

what do you mean already been done?

further commentary is necessary, Who when what did he do, what did they look like out of what material...

did he just paint the OEM handles or did he remanufacture them?

are they on the market and if so where? (cause i've never seen them)

is he on this website? if so direct him here please.

yeah... but i got some bad news for ya buddy ... the first ones are mine...

unless you want to pay the prototyping costs

for me... mine are going to run me about 5-6K for my handles... prototypes are a b!tch

 

Honestly... sounds cool but not purposeful. I have never heard of anybody breaking door handles,, why would you replace them? and how can you even fathom the idea of spending 5-6k on prototype handles that prob about 20 people would purchase? I really dont think its a smart investment to even attempt to replace the oem handles. Just paint them.

 

That's the whole point man,

obviously they are not for the daily driver, the person that bought their car for a get-around -town vehicle.

these are for the hardcore mod guys that take pride in they're car and don't want to finish off they're masterpiece by doing a half-*** job on the handles... believe me i've seen painted handles... and i've not been too impressed...

And no... i've never seen anyone break they're handles either... but if your going to do something... do it right...

why WOULD anyone bother to buy a handle that is the same quality as OEM from an after-market company when they COULD in fact paint they're handles? that's absurd!

Since my partner and I already know this, we are offering a Superior product, with a LASTING finish, how long do you think your paint is going to stay on those handles with normal use? with your keys hitting it every so often? Is it going to even come close to the finish of Anodizing? I'm no rocket scientist... but i think not...

I drive a Z too... and i do not baby mine in terms of day to day use, carrying multiple items and opening the doors with keys, cellphones and other odd objects in my hands... closing the door with my leg, or holding it open with my foot... driving through dirt, rain, and snow i drive the crap out of it... I don't rag it out... but when i want to go... i go... i've driven offroad (in moderation, no serious mudding) i've driven on solid ice, i've driven through flooded streets, went through 9-12 inches of water (wasn't fun)... If life were The Dukes of Hazzard... i'd probably be Bo Duke...lol... Mine currently stays outside (no garage) so it's had Bird crap, the elements and even stupid neighborhood kids messing with it.
So i know full well what a car can go through in the course of it's life and these handles will be built to last.

in addition, we will be manufacturing these with a few other Enhancements that will make these stand out from the rest. We would absolutely not expect ANYONE to fork over hard-earned money for something they could have done themselves, or for something that was not far off from the factory set.

Do your painted handles come with a warranty against malfunction and workmanship, against fade and finish... doubt it...

Obviously I will consult with my partner on the full aspects of the warranty, but believe me, it will not be a half-assed, thrown-together, guy in a garage made product.

We are a full business, our name will stand for Quality, not quantity.

and about your 20 ppl buying... the strengh of our business is you guys, it will start with the person that is the first to buy them (ME) hense the prototypes and no company will take time out of their busy schedule to help out a guy with an idea without coming with a pretty price tag. and we're no exception. So with the protypes on anyone that wishes to see them, to see if they are really worth it, is more than welcome to show up to a meet and check them out first hand.

From there on, it'll be strictly advertising and word of mouth, that's why as i stated in the OP i will be upgrading to sponsor/inventor.

And thanks again for asking your questions, any more please feel free, I want anyone thinking of purchasing fully confident about their purchase.

looking forward to this. there is a z in my town with painted handles and it looks terrible. I can't wait to see the product. I for one will pay a higher price for a quality product that will look good and last.

you need pics man.. no hype at all without them. Plenty of people "talk" on these forums... it gets old.

i'm sure if the product is like you say its gonna be, that people would jump on it. As long as its not some ungodly price..

I hear ya guys... And I will have pics as soon as they become available... Our progress at this point is we are waiting for the 3D modeling to ne completed... From there we will send off the file for manufacturing...

As much as I want to, I can't rush this... The very last thing I want is even a slight miscalculation... So right now I prefer them to take their time...

 

You should have waited to post this, then. Like sumfknguy said, there is way too much talk on this forum for something like this to generate hype. We know better...

yeah i know about the hype and no follow through...

that is not my intention, what i am doing is seeing how the market is in reality.

I could sit here at my desk and work up sales figures all day long, and come up with something that i think is reasonable.

However, when you invest this much money in R&D the very last thing anyone would want to do is wait until the last minute after all the pennies are spent and then find out that there is no market.

So to keep this short, i've successfully found out the general interest in it... and it's similar to what i have expected, some like some don't that's cool.

and now my next step is to get the product finished,

and again, please feel free to leave any commentary here as i will still be checking it, and i will post on here when they are completed.

or make a new thread, but i am hoping that alot of you guys have subscribed, so i'll post here first.
