Default Custom Door Handles

Hi Everyone,

I'd just like to spread the word that we are coming closer to the release of our custom made door handles for the Z.

Just a quick overview,
1)They will be custom made to be an exact fit to OEM, they are made out of solid aluminum instead of stock plastic with metallic covering.
2)they will be anodized to user's preference, My prototypes will be Gunmetal. they can be matched to nearly any color.
3) My partner and i are working on a few other enhancements that will give the handle a great look and feel.
4) embedded LEDs are possible but i must know the demand for them.
5) Handles are Sold as a COMPLETE KIT just bolt on simplicity.
6) our company's goal is to provide a higher quality REPLACEMENTS of substandard parts and also provide innovative enhancements to various features within and around vehicles.

I will update when the website is up and running, newsletter signups will be available to keep everyone up to date about our future or current projects.
any questions can be directed to me and i will answer them as quickly as possible.

One last thing, Hi-Rez pics will be posted as soon as they become available.

MODS: to avoid any conflicts i will be upgrading to Sponsor shortly so please do not delete this thread

so just a quick question...

what do you guys think a good price for these would be...

and please no "free" or other crazy comments...

i'm looking for a good accurate estimate...i'm obviously going to have to make it worth it for R&D but i'll make it as low as possible without cutting my own throat...

Anthony, don't forget to let me know first asap.

BTW, become an Inventor rather than a sponsor on the forum, when the time comes. I don't know if there's actually a difference or not, but inventor sounds cooler than a sponsor.

very nice idea! i will get one as soon as possible.

as for price, just try to be honest. calculate your cost and add a profit margin.

umm... actually i wouldn't be surprised if the prototypes did!

My partner and i agreed on a design that has a rather "razored" edge

Lets see if you guys can picture this...

We're taking the 3 dots off, copyright reasons, so the handle portion will be smooth.

the base and the handle are completely anodized in gunmetal

here's the tricky part, the forward edges (those that will get hit with wind first when you drive) are going to be brushed backed to shiny aluminum.

this will give a two tone color of silver and gunmetal, with the leading edge looking sharp, similar to a sword.

but that's only by request... anyone that wants theirs a solid color... we will love you that will be much simpler...

we'll true to the name... we are inventors... not sponsors... a custom made door handle has not been done before...

and let me be the first to say what a pain in the a$$ it is... just getting a 3-D model of it is already costing in the thousands... i cant wait to see what the actual manufacturing costs...

especially for the prototypes... they will be EXPENSIVE... but i think production costs should be WAY lower... we will see...

the best way to ensure that consumer costs stay low is to get a lot more sales...

Maybe we should set up a group buy...

Please Remember... you guys are the ones who are helping to start a new business...

so naturally i will come to you guys first with new products.

I say yes to the group buy. The sword thing sounds cool, but I would like the whole handle to be all gunmetal. Makes it easier for you .
