we do have a picture... it's like 3 or 4 pages back,

no it's not a genuine image with the handles on the car and no if we're releasing early then it's not likely that we will see a prototype before releasing.

like many of you i am not a millionaire, and we are financing this out of our own back pockets, and it will take me a little londer than the end of the month to come up with the cost of prototyping... approx. 3 or 4K

my goal was to have a prototype for you guys to check out first hand before purchasing, and if you guys choose to, go right ahead and do that, i will be getting my handles whether you prepay or not, so if you want to wait and see them in person go right ahead.

but i can most certianly say that in doing so (with too many people doing so) it will push production runs even further back.

We will however start accepting prepays and reservations just as soon as the final price is released.

again i'm sorry that we do not have prototypes for you guys to check out, and believe when i say that future products will not have this same problem, but this IS the start up of a new business, and we are not involving any banks so this is as about as fast as we can do this. we are not waiting on design finalization, everything is completed in terms of design, we are simply waiting on the manufacturers and anodizers to return their quotes...

we will be taking prepays and reservations mainly to help finance the costs of production runs, the more the merrier...
and my partner and i agree, that there will be a money back guarantee, if your not satisfied with the handles then return them and we will refund the money.

i guess you can count me in for a set, but it really depends on a few things...

i need to be able to confirm the color is what i want. im unsure between gloss black, gunmetal, and black chrome. i would need to see samples of these colors first.

and also price. i need a price before i commit to anything.

sure... Thats perfectly understandable,
thats why we have the sample mechanism in place.
however as I stated earlier, to RECIEVE a sample you must be prepaid or reserved.
prepaid is paid in full where as reserved requires only a 100 dollar deposit to secure your handles.
UPDATE: newsletter signup is ready... Its on our website which is still under construction but the first page has the entry for you.
go to www.spectrix-design.com
on yeah, just to be honest and upfront with you guys, the reason behind preselling, is to help pay for the first production run, otherwise I would not feel comfortable taking sales money without a product "in hand". I hope you guys understand that.
final price due in soon
Forum sponsorship will be up soon so let's hope my post to our webstie doesn't get deleted.

lol... no solid price and just so i hopefully don't have to answer the same question again,

the price at this time is aiming at 300 per unit(pair).

again this is not a final price due to the quotes still not being in from the manufacturers, as soon as those are in we can put up a final price.

Thanks

powder coated? I'll check for you...

For future products you will have to sign up for the newsletter and find out...
But you will not be dissapointed and once we get some revenue generated we will not have the start up pains we have now... The thing some people are missing here is that we are two guys working normal jobs trying to start up a business with no financial help so this is taking us a while paying the large costs associated with research and development that full businesses can pay with ease... But as soon as we get a constant flow we will be ok...
one project that we have is to compete in a government sponsored competition... And we can bring alot of those impressive technologies here... And let me tell you, NO ONE else is using them...
but thats all I can really say...
but i can say we are planning on doing the taillights "beyond OEM" and a few other things that no manufacturer is doing.

i can't believe I read this entire thread and have not seen a decent picture or price estimate yet. the one pic provided is pixelated and the color looks so close to stock i don't think anyone would pay for it. if you want to gauge the market you have to see if people will want it. how is anyone supposed to know if they want it or not when they don't even know what this looks like or how much it costs? maybe everyone will be interested but wouldn't pay nearly as much as you need to make a profit? i don't mean to be rude, and i hope you don't take it that way... but i think its pretty impossible to gauge interest in anything w/o the two things it takes to sell something - DESIRE and AFFORDABILITY.

if you haven't seen a price estimate then you didn't look very hard, because it's there...

even though i really didn't want to put it up, i did, because that's all i have to go off of right now,
now for the pictures, AGAIN, i appologize, like i have said before, my partner and i are financing this out of our own pockets, we are not millionaires, and we were not born to rich families, so getting a prototype is going to take quite some time due to how expensive it is.
take a look at it this way, the expense you guys would pay is a little over the cost of manufacturing a lot of 100 of them, they manufacture this way to cut costs on manufacturing side... now when we get them to make just one, their costs jump significantly (why i don't know... it's ridiculous if you ask me)...so basically i would be paying for the 100 of them (or somewhere close) and be getting only one.

getting them to raise their cost to manufacture raises my costs as well, PROTOTYPING IS EXPENSIVE
if i had it my way i would have a set for you guys to check out, but as it turns out i don't and we know that, thanks

If you guys want to start a fund for prototyping then feel free to but until then we'll have to wait and see...

well sorry i took it the wrong way, eveyone's desire is different, and i'm making this as affordable as possible, if a lot of 100 of these costs me 50 a piece and i turn around and ask for 300 that's absurd.... I am not Walmart.
My idea is not to try to make profit off of the first few i sell... i won't even break even until anwhere from 30 to 60 of these are sold... i am keeping the costs low to you guys in hope for more sales.... thats the reasoning behind posting this so early, to get more people to know about it...
the price so far is an ESTIMATE... ITS NOT SET
IT CAN GO UP AND IT CAN GO DOWN
and if you do not desire these then dont buy them... end of story
