Default Texas and Z Plate

Well I just got my Texas plates on and the only thing my Z Plate is covering is the words "Lone Star State". The plate # and the TEXAS show up pefectly.

My question is, do people (Texas Residents) still get pulled over for having the Z plate on? I really like the chrome Z plate, looks much better than those stupid clear plate covers!

When I get back from Iraq, I will get a vanity plate, but not sure, since its only 6 letters unlike Colorado's 7!

I have not been pulled over and i have the z plate on front and back. I am pretty sure they would only give you a ticket for that if they pull you over for other reasons. In fact, I think that is sort of the unwritten rule with cops and i doubt they would take the time to pull you over for that unless you **** them off in some way.

I don't even have a front plate. I didn't have one on my old Cobra either. I got hassled a few times but I kept it in the passenger floorboard. When I saw the cop pull out behind me, I put it on my dash and drove away with a warning.

As the other guy said, they only give you a ticket for that if your pulled over for another reason such as speeding, failure to signal, etc. If you ever do get a ticket for it, just take them off, take a picture, show it to the judge, it gets dismissed, then put them back on =)

i got the Z plate and got pulled over for speeding and he decided to be a ***** and gave me for the Z plate as well. Got the plate ticket dismissed in court though, didn't have to bring evidence. just inconvenient

i took mine off just in case. no point in giving them a reason to pull you over.

First off police don't have quotas. And, as long as the plate frame doesn't block more that 50% of the state name or obstruct any of the numbers or letters then it is ok.
