Well hey there is a difference is someone who might be down on their luck, or just wants to pick up a second job to help make some extra money... but if you work at a job like that and make a stupid comment like that?
The last customer I was working with had a nice picture of a Bently Coupe on her desktop. While waiting on a reboot I asked her about the picture, and she tells me thats her husbands car. Now if my reply was something like what that tool at sonic said I would have had every right to get bashed just the same as this dude from your situation I would think. Techsupport isnt some awesome job, and we get made fun of a LOT... but I am lucky enough to be working in a higher end techsupport job, and not working for dell in india. (Not making fun of India, just the first example that came to mind)

i had gotten pulled over once before for speeding though a yellow light <-- JUST Turned Yellow remember this.... when he asked me for my information he followed with, what if you ran that and hit a family of four? would you feel bad?
I replied back with, no sir I wouldnt, for the fact if I was running a yellow light that would mean that family of four was running a red light...
how stupid... none the less I did get the ticket
