Nice shots Hal.

My cousin in Sedalia, Mo is a Haz - Mat fireman & my bro was a volunteer firefighter for the LAFD for years before his back was injured.

I also have a couple of close friends that work all around the metro-plex.

Here are a few pics from my Thanksgivings trip a couple months ago.

I love what you guys do & stand for....if I could go back to my high school time, would definately go become a Fireman.

Very cool pics. My 3 kids absolutely love firemen. The part that always surprises me is how awesome they are about kids wanting to talk to them. We were out to eat at a pizza place by my office and there were 2 firemen eating a few tables away from us. The kids kept staring and wanted to go talk to them, but I said we didn't want to bother them. As we left, the firemen started talking to the kids. They actually left their food sitting there and took the kids on a tour of the truck and gave them junior firefighter stickers! I told them several times that we didn't want to interrupt their meal or bother them, but they insisted.

I think it takes a certain type of person to be a firefighter and they are heroes, not just because of what they do (which certain qualifies them), but they are awesome citizens and examples and role models as well.

Just thought I'd share my appreciation for what you and all our civil service forces do for us.

BTW, I grew up in the neighborhood that burned down in Plano around 1997 or 98. I don't remember the exact year, but about 10 houses burned to the ground and several others were damaged. It's at Legacy/Independence, called Whiffletree. Several close friends lost houses or had severe damage. We all appreciate the Plano FD and I think some other cities helped out as well.

Awesome, great respect for firemen, can't say the same for cops.

18 tickets and numerous pull overs since 2003 in my Z. (1 on record). Latest was March 3rd as a was leaving work (DFW airport, work for FAA as a radar engineer). Pulled over by Euless police.
