Legality Question
Hey Fellas,
I'm going to be moving back home to Dallas toward the end of March for business reasons. Because I have been living in California, I haven't gone FI yet due to it's absurd smog laws and how strictly the police enforce them.
My question is, what legal issues are there with putting a TT kit in the Z when I get to Texas?
i.e. - are test pipes legal? obviously is the turbo kit itself legal? All that kind of stuff.
Thanks Guys
Also, from my research I've determined that SGP is well worth the drive to Houston to have my install done. Thoughts on that?
Sorry if all of this has been discussed, I searched but didn't find anything.

i know dallas and houston counties have emissions checks when you get your vehicle inspected, so going FI will obviously fail you... but anywhere else is pretty much fair game.. i would say get your vehicle registered in a county that doesn't do them
i bought my G in dallas county and when i was up for inspection they told me i had to have an emission check, since i wasn't living in that county anymore i got it waived.

So when I register it I put a p.o. box address on the registration and I'm in the clear?
Haha then could I just have all the mail from my p.o. box forwarded to my house? Is that even something that's possible? I've never had a p.o. box or anything...sorry for all the questions...

You can't register a car to a P.O. Box, it must be a physical address...aka, a building.
I have passed inspection with 2 cars that didn't have cats, as long as your car doesn't throw codes you will be fine. They have a visual inspection policy, but that is a joke...most of the people doing these inspections either don't care or don't know what they are looking at. You could probably tell him that there is a limited production version of the Nismo Z and it has turbos on it. Then just point to a resonator and tell them it is a cat.
Or get inspected first and then put the kit on and find a buddy within the next year to pass you when round 2 comes up.
