Default Fines for test pipes???

does anyone know what the fine is for having test pipes in texas? can an officer just look at the pipes and write you a ticket? how does that work? thanks

if the officer knows about cars ya he can write u a fix it ticket im guessing but idk it depends on how effin loud ur car is

There is no specific fine for having test pipes that I know of. The only way they can tell is if they know what they're looking for, and most people don't. Also, they don't check underneath the car anyway, so it's not like they'll ever find out. Even when you do your yearly state inspection, as long as you're not throwing any SES light, you'll pass the test. The shops that do the state inspection don't even know/care if you don't have cats. As long as you pass on the machine, you're good to go. I have test pipes on my Z.

removal of fed smog devices carries a 5 or 10k fine and the shop gets it to IF the inspector catches them, but its few and none on this happening. there are some shops that go by the book and check everything out though

Do you throw a cel light with the test pipes installed? How did you get rid of the cel light?

disconnect the battery for 10 seconds and your good for a few days.
