uhhh so today i was at a pool party and some drunk guys decide to drag me in the pool with my wallet and keys in my pocket, good thing i took out my phone. but yea uhhh so my key remote got wet and i took it out right as i got in and when i tried to unlock my car the remote is not working at all. so any suggestions on how to fix this? should i jus wait for it to dry out inside?

 

try taking it apart and letting it dry out, if that doesnt work go and get a new one.....

more than likely... just let it dry out... it'll be much quicker to take it apart and let it dry that way... afterwards it should work again... either way i dont think they're too expensive... just take it to the dealer and tell them it stopped working...

... after it dry's of course... maybe you'll get lucky and they'll replace it for free... but then maybe not...

 

Take it apart and put it in a zip lock bag with some rice and leave it for a day. The rice will draw out all the moisture. This also works great for all electronics especially cell phones i have had to do it twice already.

Iv washed my keys in the washer, should be fine after it drys

 

ive washed two remotes, both were fcked and useless afterwards

It was probably the Downy ball that did them in!

you know i acutally did use the downy ball, but the last set couldnt have been in water 5 mins... i was looking for my keys and once i realized i flew down the stairs and was like noooooo!! and sure enough no dice

If you know someone in the electronics mfg. industry, see if they can rinse the insides off for you. They usually use stuff like deionized water to rinse parts. If you can't get that, I'd at least try distilled water. At least you'd get the pool chemicals off of everything, to reduce the possibility of corrosion. Especially if it was a salt water chlorine pool.
