I would love to go to a road course but the admission price just doesn't fit my budget right now. I got a quote from MSR and it was upwards of $300 just for one day..

I just go to the Houston Raceway Park. I can afford $20 bucks every few months.

GSS is about 40$ for membership and 225$ for noobs than down to 175$...
TWS is 175$

MSR is just the most expensive here around. (looks like a nice track.. I have to go there)

well we had some sand on the track during the first session... I used the 2nd gear in the hairpins and I almost went to pick up some flower around the track several times...as it started cleaning up and allow to push more I was pretty much still turning hitting the rev limiter after the first hairpin (right one) and too far from the second (left one) to stay on the rev limiter... or loosing too much time to put third, brake and put second again...
on the second (left one) was pointless... you can't complete the long sweeper in second, of course you can't change in the middle... and you can't put the power down between the hairpin and the sweeper... even in third you have to be quite gentle... same story on the third... you can use it.. and you have just a fraction to shift to third before the "last" turn... mainly you'll go slower and get less speed in the straight (performance box FTW to know how much speed and time was between the fractions)

with race tires was a different story... the other guys can just corner more aggressive than me with more traction... but the timing bottom line tells that was pointless.

checking the charts on my fastest laps now I see I could use a different line between the S making the first a little more aggressive and have more speed in the second... maybe 5 mph more for 3 seconds... maybe.

in the 1/4 mile you'll kick my *** so hard that I need a 2 week advance notice to go and practice falling in the parking lot...
last time I tried a quick start I smoked my tires till 60mph... but was a decent 5.4 0-60 HR power! (got the timing with the performance box)
