~~Austin: Sunday Drive 9:30am sharp~~
Hey guys and gals(are there any Z gals in Austin?) the S2000 folks are putting together a little drive this Sunday. As always, we have been invited along. These drives are always great fun, water crossings aside
.
From ChrisS's post on www.s2000atlanta.com:
"meet Sunday morning at the Taco Cabana in Gateway Shopping Center (183N. @ 360, in front of Best Buy). Leave @ 9:30am SHARP (my tolerance in waiting for stragglers to arrive is rapidly dimishing), get there early if you want breakfast. I'll be happy to create and lead a test route, though the pace will be moderate, at least in populated areas (I don't need any tickets right now)."
What do you all say? Who wants to go? Did someone say BBQ lunch?

How were the roads? The roads have felt like I've had 4 donuts on my car they've been so slick, assuming because of the heat. I got my oil changed on Friday, and the back roads behind South Point I almost did a 180 coming through a turn... I've never ever lost control in my car before, and I wasn't even going that hard. The most I've had is a big tail slide, and they have always been correctable, without brakes. I finally had to stand on the brakes to stop this thing. I remember from when I test drove a track Z back in February, right before getting mine, that the roads were a little slick back there, but this was ridiculous. *shrug*

My car, w/ well-worn tires, was sticking just fine all day, even through some hard driving on LCR (about the only place that we really drove very aggressively). Maybe it's the 400 lbs. missing from my car vs. the Z!

You're on your own if you want a convertible top, though...
I guess you won't want him to install chassis bracing to make up for the lost rigidity?
