If your ECU can still auto-adjust, then it'll most likely try to run things at a safer level, effectively decreasing performance.

You can clear the CEL, but you're also clearing the ECU. That means you'll go back to the factory setting, which isn't optimal for performance anyway, not to mention the ECU "learns" your driving habits and adjusts accordingly.

As for reading the CEL code:
1. put key in ignition and turn to ON position for 3 sec (do not start)
2. pump gas pedal to the floor 5 times within 5 sec and let off
3. wait 7 sec
4. press and hold gas pedal down to the floor for 10 sec, then let off
5. count number of blinks*

*Each blink is a counter for each digit of the 4 digit CEL code and there will be a slight pause in the blinking when moving onto the next digit. The first digit of each CEL code will blink at a slower rate than the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th digit. Once it shows you all the digits of every CEL code(s), it will loop and show you the same code(s) again. (Ex. P0420, P0300 = 10 slow blinks, 4 fast blinks, 2 fast links, 10 fast blinks, 10 slow blinks, 3 fast blinks, 10 fast blinks, 10 fast blinks, repeat)

To clear CEL code:
1. repeat steps 1-4 above
2. wait 10 sec
3. press and hold gas pedal down to the floor for 10 sec, then let off
4. turn key into OFF position
5. start car to ensure CEL is gone; if still there, repeat

Chris, yes I have a UpRev tune...but I have already taken it back up to Steve Kan who did the tune....He made adjustments and leveled off the left & Rt banks...but the code came back on....So I have been clearing it with a OBDII reader....and it seems to do the job....because after the CEL is gone off, I'm running with good (Tuned) acceleration again.

I am gonna do one more thing to my Non foulers before I go back up to him.
Sort of a test to see if I can get it to stop myself.

Thanks for the ECU reset ....II have done that in the past before my tune.

Whats wrong with the clutch jake?!

Anyone interested in getting rid of a project car either 240sx or miata and looking for a decent daily holler!

I have a 94 sl500 with 80k miles on it. needs a few little things, but I will let it go cheap or trade it for something!

He has already done that once before.....and I asked him that if anyone else clears that code..."like Nissan" ....would it reset my ECU to Factory or would my ECU stay on the UpRev tuned ECU...He said it goes back to the Tuned ECU....basically...the factory is gone...so to speak and the only program in the ECU right now is the tuned program.

Jake,

What's the deal with the clutch fluid issue? I obviously don't know what exactly you're fighting, but if it's what Jason dealt with on his clutch you should call him. We fought all day with it and he finally realized it had to be "force bled". Anyway, call J.
