Probably not, since that means I need to refill my nitrous and pay the race fee and gas and blah blah. I'll be broke after this weekend (bday and vday). I'm probably gonna go back on the next next one or the one after that.
Hey man, this weekend will drain my bank account, not to mention I need to get my new tires mounted and balanced, install the camber kit, and get an alignment.
true story, I want to get some slicks on some simple steel wheels.... just for track days...
Steel wheels are heavy. If you can swing it go with something else. I know with boost it doesn't matter as much as NA, but everything counts with drag racing.

Agreed I just want to get my set up for less than 800 bucks

640 already going to the 2 BFG slicks
You mean drag radials.
For my set up, I paid a total of ~$320 (including mounting and balancing the slicks onto the wheels).

I have steel wheels (look in the recent drag race thread for pics) and they work fine. I agree that every single bit of weight matters; I know better than anybody. However, the amount of money you will spend on lightweight wheels weren't worth the extra hundredths of seconds I would shed.
So, Eric, when you coming out with me to the drag strip and racing? I recall you telling me on multiple occasion that you will come out to race, but I don't remember you actually carrying that out.

Well it all depends on your level of commitment I guess. For a weekend warrior steel wheels are fine. If you are committed 100% to this car being a drag car then it all matters. Your point is most definitely valid.

Man my schedule is retarded. I'm always working during these events and I can't take days off. If one falls on the weekend I'm off one month then I'll be there. Actually this last one did, but I had some **** going on. I really want to get out there and learn how to drag race. My car would be capable of decent NA times, but I would have alot to learn as a driver. I want to do it, just don't have much time to.

Yeah, I was initially planning on making this car into a drag racer, but now I'm trying to be a bit more conservative. I initially had a nice drag set up than my current one.
