Anybody know how many miles, after you clear a CEL, will it come back on at ?
Like 50-75 miles of driving before it comes back.
This is regarding my 02 sensors in the Non-Foulers reading lean. I cleared it at Jakes but just wanted to know how many miles I have to drive before it might appear again.

I think when the CEL light is on, it makes my car run very rich and my exhaust smells really bad. Also doesn't feel as responsive at the throttle. I need to get me a code reader & clearer.

You can clear the cell from the comfort of your drivers seat without a code reader.
Thanks Chris...I'm almost there at 50 miles...so we will see if it comes back.

If your ECU can still auto-adjust, then it'll most likely try to run things at a safer level, effectively decreasing performance.
You can clear the CEL, but you're also clearing the ECU. That means you'll go back to the factory setting, which isn't optimal for performance anyway, not to mention the ECU "learns" your driving habits and adjusts accordingly.
As for reading the CEL code:
1. put key in ignition and turn to ON position for 3 sec (do not start)
2. pump gas pedal to the floor 5 times within 5 sec and let off
3. wait 7 sec
4. press and hold gas pedal down to the floor for 10 sec, then let off
5. count number of blinks*
*Each blink is a counter for each digit of the 4 digit CEL code and there will be a slight pause in the blinking when moving onto the next digit. The first digit of each CEL code will blink at a slower rate than the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th digit. Once it shows you all the digits of every CEL code(s), it will loop and show you the same code(s) again. (Ex. P0420, P0300 = 10 slow blinks, 4 fast blinks, 2 fast links, 10 fast blinks, 10 slow blinks, 3 fast blinks, 10 fast blinks, 10 fast blinks, repeat)
To clear CEL code:
1. repeat steps 1-4 above
2. wait 10 sec
3. press and hold gas pedal down to the floor for 10 sec, then let off
4. turn key into OFF position
5. start car to ensure CEL is gone; if still there, repeat
