i have the extended warranty to 90k miles but the dont cover clutches. i went over to jakes house and we may have found a contributing culprit. the shop that put it in ran the braided line down in the engine bay instead of along factory line, well by doing this is puts the line no more than 3 inches from the header, i bet the fluid is boiling (kinda explains why it gets worse when i drive some) i am going to heavily lean on them that they need to reroute it for free, and have them put the motul in since they will have to drain it all out when the reroute the line

yeah not happy. and wondering if the heat (if boiling) could possibly mess up the master or slave. going to drive to my moms house next couple of days, and after driving 30+ minutes take temp reading off the header with infrared thermometer. the shop charged me 95 to run the lines when it took them 5 min to snake through engine bay

so i just read that the cloudy dirty look, like mine is, is caused by chemical breakdown from heat....

Your fluid probably boiled over and I would recommend some Dot 4 fluid for your clutch or Motul RBF600 all the way around in the brake lines and clutch lines.

That's great you and Jake were able to find that line near the headers.

I would definitely make that shop re-route that line for free ! That's BS !

yeah i am going to raise hell... trust me. as far as the motul, that is going to happen, and i am going to be right there watching them putting it in. did you know that there is a rbf660 with boiling point of 617 degrees. i am going to swap out rotors and do stainless brake lines so i will do the rbf in that then....

read that header heat can get up to 1300 degrees

so i went there and was the nicest *** i could be. i asked him what fluid and he said dot 3, and then i asked what is the boiling point of dot 3.. he said around 400, i then asked why they would run a line of something that boils at 400 next to something that can get over a 1000. i got a weird look, then we talked about when he called me asking if i wanted to pull the factory lines out and i voted against it due to cost, but i told him that i assumed it would be ran along factory lines for what they charged, not a 10 min route down the engine bay. after everything that i said, he agreed with all the problems i am having it was due to them running the line half assed. i ordered the rbf600 and it should be here friday or monday so they will be fixing their mess up the first part of next week

^ Glad you got it all sorted out, Travis, and that the shop is taking care of it. I'd still watch them work, or at least check it out afterwards, though.

Sounds like it's all going to work out good. The best part is this will be a warning for others in the future.
