yeah washing it AGAIN tomorrow. i took the plastidip off my front quarter panel Z emblems... was getting thin and you could see silver poking through, trying to decide if i want to redo them or leave them as is. i wouldnt mind completely debadging the car, but that would involve some bondo an painting.

i am not too worried about the license plate law, it essentially has always been there and usually they dont pull you over just for that, it is just an added ticket. my license plate holder should be here tomorrow or wednesday, then i get to throw it on and go to carrollton and pay my $10 and get that ticket dismissed

AND... my car keeps throwing codes since changing the exhaust (codes 420 and 430) cat banks. wonder what would cause that just changing the exhaust.... maybe lean or rich?

 

Quite possibly caused it to run lean and it's picking up a "lean shift". Definitely time for a retune. There could also be a leak somehwere. I had one of those codes when my cat blew a hole. After I got it welded the code went away.

 

Is that the second O2 sensor code?

 

Q, Didn't have to take it to the dealer.

But I haven't given the brakes a full test yet to see if they work properly....my battery is dying and I need a new one.

 

Bank 2 so assuming so. When I dyno Saturday I will see what it is, retune in the very near future though

 

Bank 1 = Passenger's side (cylinders 1, 3, 5)
Bank 2 = Driver's side (cylinders 2, 4, 6)

Sensor 1 = O2 sensor in header
Sensor 2 = O2 sensor in cat

 

hmmm, it is running fine and it was code 420 and 430, so i think it is the cat sensor one

 

so i washed my car this morning.... went to the pool for a couple hours, get home and i have a lease violation notice. it states that car washing is only allowed in approved areas, since the complex doesnt have a car wash that is why i got dinged. after looking over the lease agreeement, and getting a little ticked. accorinding to the lease you cant back in parking spots, you cant have a flat tire or expired registration, and you cant wash cars. i went to the office and told them i thought it was funny how they enforce things, they asked what i meant. i pointed out all the backed in cars, the truck that has had a flat tire, and back in for 2 weeks now, and they guy at the other end of my bldg that details cars and therefore is always washing them. i am sure i just made some friends

Scott, I can't make the AX on Sat....I'm gonna get my eyes re-Lasik'd and the surgery is Friday and then there is a follow up apt on Sat. So I can't drive in that one.....but good news on the Z I have everything back and seems to be working fine.....Brakes feel good and no lights on.

I went up to Steve Kan's and he put the UpRev Tune back on my ECU so I have the car with a Tune again !

I love driving her again....she feels alive !

ChrisP, sorry to hear about all your issues on your Z. I know how you feel man.

 

I know you've been fighting that ABS issue for months now so it's a relief for sure. Are you going to come hang out at least on Saturday, either at the race or the dyno thing?

 

I"m not sure Chris...If I get done with the post surgery visit, I will come by the AX....if it is later, then I might go to the Dyno.

I just finished washing the Z by hand....it was terribly dirty and had water spots all over the paint from sitting outside for over a month !

 

I always heard you couldn't have lasik done a second time.

Is it a new thing or have they been doing it for a while?

 

Yeah, I kind of started neglecting my Z after it started causing me a whole bunch of headaches. I'm not even really excited about the race this Saturday.

 

I think you could have LASIK redone multiple times. At least I know people who is under warranty had their visions get bad so they had to get it re done.

Travis how do you wash the car at the apt complex? ONR? And what's a "approved" area?

 

Well I have a consultation / examination on Thursday...if they say I am eligible...then they schedule you for Friday am surgery...and then the post exam to make sure your cornea is healing right.

I'm not really sure how many times you can have it done....but this will be my last time. If and when my vision gets bad again, I will just have to wear glasses.

 

Old man lol! Honestly i need glasses though, my distance vision is shiet.

i was using the Maguires car wash and microfiber sponge, i hooked a hose up to a spicket on the bldg, the only approved area is a car wash that we dont have. after i got to reading the lease... i noticed that it said you cant back in, you cant have a dent in your car, you cant have a flat tire, etc. so i went outside and took pictures of all these things i saw.. i will be printing them and taking them to the office.. i also got a picture of the guy in my bldg that details cars doing what .. WASHING A CAR.

 

Im still hoping to make this saturday but work told me not to male plans yet for Saturday because we might be working. They said they should be able to tell me by tomorrow which I'm sure by then registration will be full.
