Driver crashes $1M car bought the day before, two injured

A Texas Department of Public safety spokesperson said troopers were called to the scene around 7:41 a.m. Investigators say the 27-year-old driver lost control and hit a guardrail after driving over a wet spot in the road.

According to the DFW Scanner Facebook page, the exact location of the crash is unknown.

The 2015 McLaren P1 was heavily damaged in the crash. The driver and his 24-year-old passenger were taken to Parkland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to a spokesperson from Park Place Premier Collection, the exotic car was sold by the dealership Tuesday, one day before the crash.

The crash is still under investigation. Pictures of the incident have circulated around the internet throughout the day Wednesday.

The McLaren P1 is known as a hyper-car and is valued at more than $1 million. It is equipped with a plug-in electric motor mated to a turbo-charged V8 engine, producing more than 900hp. It has a top speed of 217 mph.

The P1 has a production run of only 375 cars.

they did..... BUT they were too short, and the threaded shaft was was thinner than my oem

jake said the ones i picked up were like his, but when we went to take mine off the nut was 22mm, and he said on the de they were 19mm. so i guess they beefed up the front some and all the manufacturers just assume they would fit... dunno

the one on the left is like the one i ordered and what autozone had, right is my oem

Hmm, interesting. I wish I had taken comparison pictures of all the ball joints that I had so I could see if any of mine were different.

lower inner control arm bushing blew - both covered by extended warranty

both lower ball joints were leaking - not covered and cant replace just the ball joint, they replaced the whole steering knuckle - not covered by warranty

total was $2023 and i had to pay $1123

and yes it will find its new home in about a month, and i havent been seriously looking yet, i will after the first of they year

i have my old lower control arms that i was going to thrown some poly bushings in and sell them if anyone local wants them

Anyone in the North McKinney area happen to have a floor jack I can borrow? Not about to do the rear brakes on my car with the factory widowmaker and I lent someone my floor jack but haven't gotten it back yet.
