Thats the problem with companies today, they really have no loyalties to anybody anymore.

Travis, I hope your safe and secure there.

I heard things were getting REALLY slow over there. I hope they keep you on. I know how tough it is to find a new job when the industry is down like it is. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I will be crossing my ...well everything and hope to make it through this one. Our industry has been slammed by the media and people just don't want to be seen in a corporate jet. In turn every time Obama make another comment we see a drop in activity.

Yea most people look at jets as a uneeded item. If that is true then why does Obama have 4 of our Jets and what do you think Airforce one is. A CEO of an major company is very important to that company stock prices. The same reasons the Pres. fly in one is the same reason a blue chip CEO needs one.

Unfortunately, it is not all just corporations that make up the clients for those jets. Even the individual owners are not buying these days. People and companies alike are passing on interior/electronic upgrades as well. Even if they have the money, they are choosing to hold onto it since everything is so unstable these days. Aerospace is so hit and miss, it drives me crazy. Most of the time you're working your tail off, or browsing the job listings.

90% are corporations 10% families. Seems like a 8-9 year cycle. When it shifts it just falls off the face of the earth.

but since obama is the president, he apparently doesnt count.

a lot of CEOs with todays companies need these jets to get from point A to B quickly. a private corporate jet is very convienient and can be ready to go in no time with very little notice.

To include the security of a corporate asset. Even if he sucks the danger of him getting hurt can greatly effect the market. With a jet he can hit 5 cities and conduct buisness on site in one day. Just try to pull that off ridding commercial.

Part of AIG's business is providing loans for aircraft leasing/buying. And we know how that went. That hit us hard.

people are obsessed with it because of the income gap in the country, last year, 2.1% of the population of the country, earned 50.4% of the money in the country... you can imagine how quickly it falls off from there.

Not trying to start a heated debate or anything, just saying there are a TON of economic concerns in the country at the moment that will not be lightly put to rest.

The war contributes to this because we have sons and daughters dying, with a very very slow progression of government in Afgan and Iraq.
It is made worse by all of the celebrities that "speak out" against the war calling it a corporate war etc etc, the false propaganda is more harmful to the unity of the country than anything most of us have seen in our live times, and when people are upset/scared/or whatever, the economy will show it.

And Travis I hope you end up on the top of that 50/50 chance, I can't imagine how nervous this must make ya, but your pro and I bet you will be fine

Their definitely can be considered times when you need a private jet. When my dad has to go out to remote locations in Texas to visit oil wells he usually charters a private jet for the day so he can visit all these small towns during the day. Obviously, our family has no need of one all the time, but many people find that it can be very convenient to have a jet waiting to take you from anywhere to anywhere.
