A simple lip add-on would make it look TONS better.
1. I thought about painting the center caps but I like the way it looks without them.

2. I had to raise the front back up about half an inch, maybe a little bit more. I could barely turn the wheel through my parking lot without the tire hitting the fender.

3. In the front it is a 245/40/18 and the rear is a 275/40/18.

4. I like the tires alot. Dry grip is pretty good but wet traction is not there, I can easily start sliding around on any road surface.

5. I have thought about a front lip but I am still undecided.

Should of looked at the SPT's, both good dry and wet.

How is the road noise?

I'm really surprise that it was rubbing being that lowered (most likely lots of negative cambers) also without an aggressive offset.

I want mines tucking.

How much were your tires/mounted/balanced?

I've also thought about General Exclaim UHPs before. They're great for their price but doesn't compete with bigger names.

I had Kumho Ecsta SPTs as well, but they wear out faster than their treadwear rating would suggest. However, they're not too bad in the rain nor on dry pavement.

I paid 60 bucks for two BFG G-forces with 8/32 thread, no plugs, no patches.
I paid 60 bucks for two Michelin Pilot sports with 8/32 thread, no plugs, no patches.

I haven't bought a new tire since 04....

I have a truck to drive when it is raining, plus today it had just sprinkled a little bit to make the ground wet. There was oil and everything all over the road.

Road noise is, well, not there. lol

The front was rubbing on the fender lip when I would turn. The wheel in an 18x9 with 20 offset.

But you also drift often.

Me likes having matching tires. I'm that OCD .

IMO tire wear has a lot to do with how you drive as well. But I heard those Generals last FOREVERRRR.

Have any of you guys ever heard of a waterless detailing company or product that they use for detailing ?

There are a couple of guys here detailing coworkers cars with out using water.

Supposedly they just spray this cleaner, wax, sealer on your car and wipe away.

Has anyone had this done to a car ?

Sounds like a quick detailer spray. But if you mean using it when the car is really dirty and not actually washing it, then I dunno. If my car has been washed recently, but is showing signs of filth I might use some quick detailer.

Otherwise I wash it.

sounds like an easy way to scratch the paint imo.

It does sound like a way to put swirls and scratches on paint.. There is a system that consist of washing your car without actually using the water hose. It's called ONR (Optimum No Rinse) wash. This method is used to wash cars in the winter, in the garage, conserve water, etc. It's very convenient. And I hear a lot about it. I just never tried it out myself.

Yeah, I've very hesitant to have the Z detailed like that.

I would have the truck done just to see what it is like.....but don't know about the Blk paint on the Z vs. the Silver paint on the truck.

Blk shows imperfections so much easier.

Its like the CA duster scratching the paint of your car.....some say its works great with no scratches & others say it leaves micro scratches.

Ok so I learned a lesson today. Something I already knew, but sometimes forget to check. Hopefully all of you guys check every time.

So I changed the oil on the Z today about an hour before I was to head out to the drag strip. When the time came to leave I rolled out and was excited to try out drag racing. Well I got about 3 miles from home and saw the oil warning light come on the dash. "What the hell? I just put 5 quarts in and I know I tightened the filter and drain plug."

So I pulled off to the shoulder and right about that time I heard the engine start to "tick" a little bit because she was beginning to starve for oil. SHUT DOWN! Tried to get a peak underneath to see if it was the plug or the filter, but the Z is too low to get under without a jack. I then called J (Jason Z-YA) and asked him to come rescue a damsel in distress.

I needed oil for sure, and asked him to also bring a new filter and the necessary tools. It was kinda funny then because we wound up doing an oil change on the shoulder of the highway. Before we even took the old filter off we could see the problem. I didn't notice (and forgot to check well enough) that the rubber seal from the OLD filter had stuck to the engine. Never put a new filter on without making sure you got the old rubber off. This causes for a poor seal (no matter how tight you try to get it) and once your oil pressure rises it blows out.

Needless to say I had oil blown all over the undercarriage of the Z. But the worst part is that is was all over the inside of the front right wheel and all down the right side and rear end of the car. Took it to the spray and wash and washed it off pretty good. I'll do a full detail tomorrow, but she's ok for tonight.

Moral of the story....

ALWAYS CHECK FOR THE OLD SEAL FROM THE OLD OIL FILTER.

Damn that really SUCKS. Did you end up going to the track still? Yeah I heard stories about that. And now I always check the old filter that it came off with it.
