If your Z runs 13s, then you would need a helmet. With this sort of weather, that should include everybody.

There are specific requirements the helmet needs to meet, but motorcycle helmets will suffice.

Since the track is Dallas Raceway, keep in mind that they will not have loaner helmets. You'll need to bring your own.

thats weird because thats exactly what i have lol. 04 DB enthusiast with 6 speed paid 12,995 for it with 86k miles on it. granted im also having overheating issues at the moment becuase for some reason the car didnt have a thermostat in it when i bought it. now that its getting colder i put the thermostat in it and it overheats.

 

how much does it cost to go out to the dallas raceway? im interested in going since ive never been to the track before, i just have to wait til i have a little extra cash on hand. im normally off on sundays.

 

Last time I went, it cost me $25 to get in and race all day.

Quick question for my fellow DFWers -
I'm new to audio mods and was wondering
a) If I was going to get 2 Kicker CompVR subs if I should get the ones with 2ohms or 4ohms?
and
b) What would be the best amp to get for them for a somewhat-low price?

It all depends on what amplifier you're getting. You can get either 2 or 4ohm subwoofer as long as your amplifier puts out the right output @ those ohms. I'd recommend two 4ohm subwoofer so you can wiring them down to a 1ohm load. Then get a monoblock amplifier that does good rated power at 1ohm. What's your budget?

 

So the price of an amp to power the 2ohm subs would be cheaper? If so, what would be the best amp for the Kickers at 2ohms?

 

What made you go with the Kicker subs? Not sure what price you're looking at but Kicker ZX amplifiers are popular..JL Audio, Alpine, Zapco, Memphis, Sundown Audio, US Amps, DLS, Audison, Arc. Just depends what your budget is.

 

I went with those kickers because I found a buy one get one free and thought I might as well get both of them for $129 total with shipping. And thanks for the help

 

I'm planning on going to the track shortly after 1. I have some lunch so I'll be a little late. I have an extra helmet if needed, since I don't plan on breaking into the 13's anytime soon. It will be fun to see what happens in colder weather, less gas, and with my mods.

Yeah those were the ones I was looking at and they're perfect! My budget for an amp is between $120 - $200 preferably, but I can raise that if need be.
