Dude as far as emissions goes there's not a whole lot of getting around it. Are you throwing any codes?
There may be someone out there that could get around it. There's always a way around anything. I just know that it's alot harder on newer cars.

In Euless just south of Grapevine across from DFW airport.
The southern mouth of the Bush Turnpike comes out on 183 just a couple miles from my apartment.

If you don't have any fault codes then you should pass. If it has a good tune in it then it will pass the emissions test. Just go and have an inspection done. If it doesn't pass you don't have to pay (I think).

I think you pay even if you don't pass. I took my moms car recently.

You pay whether you pass or not. However, if you fail, you can go back within 15 (?) days and you can try again to see if you pass. I failed my state inspection last year, but forgot to go back in (I would've failed again) within the allotted time. But, they let me try again even though I was a couple of days past and I passed. My problem was the O2 sensor.
